This was my first time to hike Mount Ophir and quite a tough mission. Ensure to spend at least 8 hours to hike this highest mountain in Johor(stands 1276m). The Lagenda trail to the peak is pretty challenging, the trail was well equipped with sturdy ladders and ropes, reflectors and signboards/maps. Over 30 ladders to climb, and 2 rock scaling to reach the peak. There are 2 bathing places, one is Kolam Mahligai, then go up a little and there is a beautiful and peaceful waterfall is Air Terjun Sungai Air Putih. Truly enjoy the breathtaking scenery and cooling fresh air on the peak. Overall it was an exciting and memorable experience! 🌿 Minimum of 4 pax to register for a guide, Daytrip Hiking: RM 122, Sunrise Pursuite: RM 221 and Summit Attack: RM 152 for Malaysian. This national park is one of the most famous hiking spots in Malaysia. Recently revisiting the national park with local friend, we just strolling around and taking some nice photos. The views from the entrance gate is literally breathtaking with the spectacular Mount Ophir as the background. The greenery landscape with tranquil atmosphere, and the weather is nice with refreshing cooling air, making it a great urban recreational spot! Lots of visitors visit here for picnic or hiking during weekend. 🌿 The Gunung Ledang National Park is open daily from 9 am – 5 pm, closed on Thursday. Sam Kee Kopitiam is a traditional local brand cafe, located at Jalan Ibrahim, Taman Sri Tanjung, Muar. They serves very simple and local Malaysian breakfast such as the Elephant Coffee, kaya & butter toast, soft-boiled eggs, ready packed Nasi Lemak and Mee Siam. Very nice mountain in johor

One of the most recommended treks for those who want to have a challenging trekking experience with a life long excitement. Gunung Ledang (also known as Mount Ophir), 1276 metres is probably Peninsular Malaysia’s best-known mountain. The mountain is situated in Johor, close to the Melaka border and it is a very accessible mountain. Ledang can be climbed in a weekend, camping one or two nights on the mountain. Air Terjun Gunung Ledang(Gunung Ledang Waterfall) is a popular destination for nature lovers and outdoor enthusiasts who are looking for a refreshing getaway. This beautiful waterfall is located in the Gunung Ledang National Park, Tangkak, Johor. It has been closed for a year for upgrading works, and reopen to the public in 7th July 2023. I went to the waterfall with friends last weekend, it was literally crowded. Visitors were enjoy a relaxing picnic or bathing in the water with family and friends, while admiring the stunning views and listening to the soothing sounds of cascading water. As continue hiking along the trail, there are several waterfalls to explore, gradually make the way into the lush jungle, where the air was more cooler and fresher. Opening hours: Thursday to Tuesday from 9am - 5pm, closed on Wednesday. Getting there: Gunung Ledang National Park lies just inside Johor's border with Melaka state, about 30 km from the town of Muar. I would recommend to go by car. Highlights: The mountain is 1276m high. It is not an easy hike. You will need to take around 5-6 hours to hike to the summit. There are some steep rocky faces to negotiate with the aid of ropes. If you are not a frequent hiker, you may try the other trail as well. Personally I have taken the 20 minute trek along stone pathways to the Puteri Waterfalls. It is a cascade of about 60m with pools and a pleasant picnic and bathing area further downstream. 🤩 Entrance: To enter the park at the Gunung Ledang Resort entrance you have to pay RM2 per car and RM1 per person.
