This season's menu features #Yonezawa beef. The beef is grilled and served by a dedicated staff (amazing! 🤭) In the past, only Japanese Wagyu beef under 30 months old could be imported. Recently, regulations have been relaxed. The staff said the Yonezawa beef they offer has finer marbling and a more pronounced sweetness. 😙 The staff grills it exceptionally well, and every bite is sweet and not greasy. 👄 If I grilled it myself, I'd probably ruin the beef's sacrifice. 😂 Although this was my first visit, #Niuhua is one of my top five favorite Wagyu Yakiniku restaurants in Taipei. #chinatravel The Liu Mingchuan Tunnel is one of those spots that’s low key cool if you’re into history or just want something different. I wasn’t expecting much, but walking through the tunnel was actually pretty awesome. It’s super quiet, a little spooky, and full of that old, mysterious vibe. The tunnel dates back to the Qing Dynasty, and it’s wild to think trains used to run through here. The lighting inside is subtle but just enough to see where you’re going. The walk isn’t long, but it feels like stepping into a piece of the past. There’s a small park area nearby too, so it’s a nice place to just chill and take a break. It’s not flashy or touristy, but that’s kind of the charm. If you’re around Keelung and want something unusual and mellow, this place is a cool little side trip.

#chinatravel Spent the afternoon hiking around Shimen Reservoir in Taoyuan District, Taoyuan, Taiwan and honestly it was a vibe. Not a crazy intense hike or anything but more of a relaxed walk with solid scenery the whole way. There are a bunch of little trails and paths that loop around the reservoir. Some parts are paved and others feel more like forest trails. Super green, lots of trees and views of the water popping through every now and then. The air feels fresh out there and it is way quieter than the city. Perfect place to just zone out for a bit. Saw a few cyclists and families but it never felt crowded. One of the highlights was this cute little viewing spot with benches overlooking the water. Great place to snack and chill. No fancy gear needed. Just comfy shoes and some water. If you’re looking for a peaceful spot that’s still easy to get to, Shimen’s got you covered.
