Transportation strategy - Arrive at Tai Po Railway Station and transfer to the 75k bus to Tai Mei Tuk; After passing a row of restaurants, go up the incline road and follow the signs up a flight of steps to reach the Chunfeng Pavilion. Then go up the mountain road along the stone steps, pass the sign at the foot of Hengshan Mountain, and walk for about half an hour to reach the foot of Baxianling Mountain. Followed by a series of stone steps, you can climb slowly up to the top. Novices can also reach the top. With a little persistence, you can reach the first peak. Playright values children’s right to playc focus on putting theories into practice, child-centred and seek societal commitment to build and upgrade more playful facilities for children to play without worrying. It was a cloudy and windy weekend, we went to a private campsite “Hong Kong Pedal Powered Kayak Association” at Ting Kok Tsuen. It’s convenient for family or first time camper where there’s : Carpark 🚗 Toilet 🚻 Shower 🚿 (hot/cold water) BBQ stoves for rentals Table and chairs Drinks for sales We enjoyed our time together with a couple of friends, our camping buddies. The crowd control is good ! Plenty of space between campers, and a huge area for kids to run around and play with each other. Most impressed by their effort in putting leave no trace in action. The cleaning / washing system is clever; and gathering all trash and bring it out to the carpark (don’t leave it at the campsite) near entrance of the village, these makes the campsite clean and odour free. It’s quite a relaxing but fun weekend. We had a birthday party 🥳, water guns fights 💦🔫, flying kites 🪁 and splashing stones in water by the mangrove forest 🌳 . I visited in the afternoon, and the afternoon tea set was quite a good deal. For just a few dozen dollars, you can enjoy traditional Taiwanese cuisine in a beautiful setting. It was juicy and tender, with a nice texture due to the thickness of the slices. Soy Sauce Chicken (Half) The skin was smooth and the meat was tender, full of soy sauce aroma. The ginger paste made with green onions and oil enhanced the flavor. Roast Goose Rice The skin was crispy and the meat was tender, filled with the aroma of goose fat. Every bite was satisfying. Every year, the most magical place during the Mid-Autumn Festival is definitely @lakehouse.hk The place is spacious with many photo spots! I bought the $70 ticket, which includes floating water lanterns! Tsz Shan Monastery is a Chinese Buddhist monastery established for the preservation of the inheritance of the Dharma preached by Śākyamuni Buddha. To date, the Foundation has contributed more than HK$3.4 billion to cover the land acquisition and construction costs, as well as the Monastery's operating expenses.Tsz Shan Monastery (慈山寺) Tsz Shan Monastery is a prominent Buddhist temple situated in Tung Tsz, Tai Po District, Hong Kong. The monastery is notable for its 76-meter tall bronze-cast statue of Guan Yin, a revered figure in Buddhism. It is located in a scenic area, with Pat Sin Leng mountain range behind it and Plover Cove Reservoir in front. The monastery covers an area of approximately 500,000 square feet.

Spring is the best season for cycling🚴♀️. Starting from Sha Tin to Tai Mei Tuk, it takes about two hours. The scenery along the way is beautiful, and watching the sunset🌅 at Tai Mei Tuk is very meaningful. The straight road is very refreshing. Many people sit by the sea to chat, walk🚶, and run🏃♀️, which is very pleasant. Usually, people fly kites here because the bridge area is quite windy. Children👧 should be careful. Weekends are especially crowded, so I choose to go on weekdays.

#familytrips2024 Tofufa is available in hot or cold. It was really delicious but there’s no seating area. It’s by the wet market building. The texture is super smooth and silky and has a good tofu taste. The water it comes in is already a little sweet but you could add some yellow sugar at the shop to make it sweeter. They also sell (hot and cold) soy bean milk in plastic bottles. If you eat the tofufa at the shop it costs $11 Hkd and for take away they charge $12 Hkd. The shop is quite small so there is limited seating available inside (2 stools at a small bar) so if it is busy you need to eat it standing right outside the shop or order take-away and eat it somewhere else. Definitely a must visit when you are in Tai Po!!! Our dream destination for our family trip is China as it's rich history, diverse culture, stunning landscapes, and delicious cuisine make it a captivating place to visit.
