Isle of Skye (Scotland)
Had one of the best scenery during my trip to Scotland and England back in April 2023. We landed in Edinburgh, rented a car, drove to Inverness, Portree, Glasgow, then ended at Manchester UK for our MBA workshop.
Definitely one of the best experience for driving trip as it is the same side as we have back in Malaysia, so no need to adapt to the opposite side of traffic.

An assortment of spectacular
#myhiddengems
A trip to the isle of skye has many things in it. From medieval castles, picturesque village, jagged mountains to a distillery and bridges. It has garnered a reputation ove the years and that is why it features on many must do lists when visiting scotland. A country that already features on my top 3 accents of the world list.
Irrespective of the weather or if you are doing it on a day or two of organised tours. The sights are going to be spectacular. Also for the nature and outdoor enthusiasts there are some very nice hiking opportunities here. Atleast the ones I managed to do, the likes of Quirang and Old man of the storr. were absolutely rewarding with views and surprisingly also a decent amount of wild life. More famously the funny/cute looking hairy coos, the sea eagles and red deer.
For those with a strong visual memory will also realise or have that feeling of seen it somewhere. The thing being that this place has been a filming site for many epic movies in the last few decades. And it makes sense as they fit the setting of those movies. Moving on, the magical fairy Glen can be found on the West side of Trotternish at Balnacnoc, Uig. One of Skye’s most famous attractions, are the Fairy Pools. They are a series of pools with crystal clear water. Surrounded by the Cuillin Mountains by Glenbrittle, this stunning spot is definitely worth visiting.
A personal favourite of mine is the Neiste point. Probably the best spot for sunset or even dolphin watching as some people pointed out when I was there. Then there are several more points of interest depending on how much time you have. You could always end your day by relaxing over drinks in a nice and quirky Scottish pub. Their music is so fun.#myhiddengems #scotland #isleofskye #100waysoftravel #summerdestinations #beautiful #solotrip #explorer

Highland Hues of Scotland's Isle of Skye
My exploration of the Isle of Skye in Scotland was a journey through a landscape of haunting beauty and ancient legends, where the highlands meet the sea🏴. The island's dramatic scenery, from rugged coastlines to towering cliffs and serene lochs, painted a picture of nature's untamed splendor🌊.
Hiking the Quiraing, a surreal and sprawling landslip on the island, was a highlight. The panoramic views of the highlands and the Atlantic Ocean were breathtaking, revealing a landscape carved by time and the elements⛰️.
For those venturing to Skye, be prepared for rapidly changing weather. Layered clothing, waterproof gear, and sturdy hiking boots are essential for the unpredictable Scottish climate🌦️.
A visit to the Fairy Pools is a must. These crystal-clear, natural pools, set against a backdrop of the Cuillin mountains, offer an enchanting and refreshing swimming experience, if you're brave enough to face the cold waters💧.
Remember to respect the delicate ecosystems and historical sites. Skye is rich in history and folklore, and preserving its natural and cultural heritage is vital🏰.
Lastly, the local cuisine is a delight, with fresh seafood and traditional Scottish dishes adding to the island experience. Don't miss the chance to taste local specialties and perhaps a dram of Scottish whisky in a cozy pub🍽️.

Ailee visited the stolen castle
I visited using the Labbies tour and the entrance fee is 10 pounds.
It rained on and off and the wind was so strong that my umbrella broke. -_-
I couldn't take pictures inside because they didn't allow it, but it's just a typical Scottish castle. Instead, the surrounding scenery is amazing and there's a restaurant where you can have a quick bite, so if you're going light, it's okay. #Cafe
