Capri, the honeymoon island.
Capri, also known as the Isle of Capri, is a famous holiday destination in the southern part of the Bay of Naples, Italy. The island is located in the Tyrrhenian Sea, about 18 nautical miles from the Bay of Naples and 14 km east of the Sorrento Peninsula. The island covers an area of about 10 square kilometers, with its highest point, Mount Solaro, standing at 589 meters above sea level.
Capri is renowned for its stunning natural beauty and rich cultural heritage. Since ancient Roman times, it has been a famous tourist and health resort. Emperor Augustus once exchanged "ten cities" for it and lived in seclusion here for ten years. The island boasts a mild climate, lush vegetation, towering coastal cliffs, and numerous rocky caves. Among them, the most famous is the "Blue Grotto" (Grotta Azzurra), hailed as one of the seven wonders of the world, known for its unique blue waters.
Capri is not only a treasure trove of natural beauty but also a paradise for shopping and leisure. The island is home to many luxury brand stores, with shops lining the narrow streets, making it a shopper's paradise. Additionally, Capri is famous for its lemons, which are exceptionally large, and its lemon drinks are delicious.
The main attractions on the island are located on the mountain, accessible by cable car. The cable car resembles a small train, compact, with a few seats in each carriage. There are no cars on the island, only custom-made electric vehicles that look like small toys. The houses on the island are painted in fresh, natural colors, creating a beautiful and relaxing atmosphere.
Capri is also known as the honeymoon island, as its beautiful sunsets and ocean views make it one of the most romantic places in Europe. The scenery on the island is truly breathtaking, but there are also many tourists, especially during peak season, when you may have to queue for the cable car.
