Travel Diary of Sorrento, Italy

Sorrento is a small coastal town located along the Bay of Naples, offering a perfect glimpse into the charm of southern Italy. After a one-hour train ride from Naples, I arrived in Sorrento, which immediately greeted me with its warm and relaxed atmosphere. The endless expanse of the Mediterranean's blue waters and the cluster of buildings perched on cliffs resembled a fairytale village. After settling into my accommodation, I set out to explore the town. Walking through narrow alleys, I was surrounded by the scent of lemons, and the lemon products and limoncello samples displayed everywhere kept stopping me in my tracks. Sorrento is particularly famous for its lemons, and their rich, sun-soaked aroma seemed to envelop the entire town. In the evening, I climbed to a cliffside viewpoint to gaze at the sea. As the sun began to set, the sky and sea turned a brilliant shade of red, creating a breathtaking scene that words could hardly describe. I ended the day at a nearby restaurant, enjoying fresh seafood pasta paired with local wine. Sorrento is quiet and unassuming, yet it holds a profound charm. It offered me precious moments to escape the hustle and bustle of daily life, to walk slowly, to observe deeply, and to focus on myself. The few days spent under the Mediterranean sun will remain etched in my memory for a long time.
