Nothing Beats Nature
"Drunk Mountain". No idea where it gets its name. But it made me fall drunk of its natural beauty. The scenery is pleasant, especially the waterfall view is very spectacular. The mountain is not high. So it's suitable for everyone even for children. A whole day trip is just right, there are lots to play, it was just unfortunate we went on a rainy day. After climbing the mountain, you can choose to take a sightseeing bus on your way back, it was so quick, the driver drove it like a flash, we were laughing all the way. It was exciting.

Qiupu River, also known as Qiupu River, Yunxi River, and Guichi River, is a tributary of the middle reaches of the Yangtze River, located in the Chizhou section of Anhui Province, China. It originates in Shitai County and has two sources: one from the Xianyu Mountains, which converges with the Guniujiang Mountains and the Nanyuan and Zhuxi Rivers into the Gongxin River, and flows through Tangcun into the Shuanghekou River, with a total length of 43 kilometers; the other from the Dahongling Mountains in Qimen County, which flows into Shitai County, converges with the Hongling River, passes through Diaoyutai, and flows into the Qiupu River, with a total length of 17.5 kilometers.
The entire Qiupu River basin is beautiful, with rich natural and cultural tourism resources. There are seven national 4A-level scenic spots, including Qiupu River Scenic Area (rural rafting, Baizhangya Canyon), Guaitan Rafting, Xianyu Mountain, Guniujiang, and Zuishanye. Among them, the Yuxianshan Scenic Area developed in the upper reaches of Shitai County is quite famous. Qiupu River is also known as the "river of poetry" because of the presence of literati such as Du Mu and Xiao Tong, especially Li Bai's "Five Visits to Qiupu" poems and legends.
Visitors can experience exciting rafting activities, ride a rubber raft downstream, and enjoy the beautiful scenery on both sides of the river. Qiupu River Scenic Area also has a Daughter Village Cultural Experience Hall, Jungle Adventure, Dragon Palace Treasure Hunt, and other attractions. The scenic area is open daily from 8:00 am to 5:00 pm.
Guniujiang - Highly recommended for autumn camping!
Guniujiang is located in Shitai County, Chizhou City, Anhui Province. The entire hiking route is 23 km long. We recommend a two-day, one-night trip. On November 2–3, my two teammates and I completed the entire route. Here is a summary of the transportation, campsites, road conditions, and scenic spots.
Transportation: We recommend driving, as transportation is inconvenient in the mountains and the start and end points are together. It takes just over two hours to drive from Chizhou Station to the starting point. If you don't drive, you can take a high-speed train to Chizhou Station and then charter a car to the starting point at Wangshan Homestay in Shitai. Be sure to book a return driver in advance, as it is difficult to call a car in the mountains.
Campsite: We recommend camping below the mountain top. The first day's journey is 6 km, with a total ascent of 1,200 m. The campsite is a large, flat grassland. The water source is 100 m from the campsite in the direction of the mountain top.
Road conditions: The road is clear on the first day. On the second day, you will descend along a wild road to the scenic area, descend the steps to the bottom of the valley, and then climb again. Pay attention to the last section. The road is very unclear when passing through the tea garden, and there are many large stones. You can move forward without following the track. You can ask the locals who pick tea leaves for directions.
Scenic spots: The section at the top of the mountain is very beautiful, especially the location of the first picture. It is on a ridge with excellent scenery all around. You can even see Huangshan 100 km away due to the high visibility. You can play in the water at the bottom of the valley. The pool is clear and green, and very beautiful. Highly recommended.
Note: After entering the scenic area, if you encounter scenic area staff, they may ask you to pay an additional ticket fee of CNY 100, but we did not encounter this.
Finally, plan your time reasonably. The first day is short with a lot of climbing, 6 km with an ascent of 1,200 m. The second day is 18 km with an ascent of 500 m. Arrange your departure time reasonably on the second day according to your speed.

Chizhou is a treasure trove of natural beauty and cultural relics. Here, mountains and rivers complement each other, with a thousand years of cultural heritage, poetic rivers, and refreshing natural secrets. It is a highly recommended tourist city. 🚌 Take the mountain road bus to Zhiyuan Temple, then transfer to the scenic bus to Tiantai Cableway. After going up the mountain, visit the ancient Baijing Platform, Tiantai Main Peak, Yixiantian, Shiwang Peak, and other attractions in turn, and finally take the cableway down the mountain.

Guniujiang in ShiTai County is a charming tourist destination.

For tickets🎫, it is recommended to purchase them a day in advance. For only 103 yuan, you can get both the entrance ticket and the scenic bus fare. The ease of purchasing tickets allows tourists to start their journey with greater ease.
The weather on the day of the visit was pleasant and sunny🌞. In sunny areas, the temperature is relatively high, so short sleeves are sufficient. However, it is recommended to bring a thin jacket, as the temperature in the scenic area may vary. If you are only interested in playing in the water, it is advisable to wear more clothes to prevent catching a cold.
After getting off the scenic bus, walk a short distance forward and you will see a stone bridge🌉. This is an important fork in the road. The left path leads to Longmen Lake, which is a great spot for taking photos📷. The scenery of the green bamboo rafts is particularly stunning, making you feel like you are in a painting. The right path leads to Yanjia Village, but please note that taking this path means climbing a mountain🧗, so be prepared physically.
If your destination is Longmen Lake, do not cross the bridge❗️Turn left directly in front of the bridge and you will see the clear water. Although the area is not large, it is enough for tourists to take satisfying photos. You can then climb the mountain. Walking clockwise is relatively easy, allowing tourists to enjoy the scenery without getting too tired.
If you want to experience the bamboo raft project, you need to take a number and queue. If you arrive at the scenic area early, you will find that the number of tourists is not too large. Most of them are elderly people with children playing by the water. There are even fewer people climbing the mountain, allowing you to enjoy the tranquility of the forest. The Hidden Garden and Hundred-foot Cliff in the scenic area are also not to be missed. The mountains are covered with tea trees, a lush green that is refreshing and worth seeing🌳.
Anhui Qimen Colorful Jade Valley | A scenic spot discovered by chance while hiking.
The Colorful Jade Valley is located on the mountainside of Xianyu Mountain in Qimen County, Anhui Province, with a total length of more than 4,000 meters. In the colorful jade valley, the stones on both sides are mainly brown-red and pure white, with green, blue, black, gray and other colors. The beauty of this valley lies in the riverbed. The entire riverbed is like a jade belt, and various colorful and varied jade stones are naturally formed on the riverbed. According to expert verification, the Colorful Jade Valley was formed about 340 million years ago. It was formed by factors such as earthquake impact, crustal movement, magma ejection, and wind and rain erosion. It is a world-class spectacle.
This is a scenic spot that requires a ticket. Because the valley was flooded and destroyed part of the plank road in the early stage, the scenic spot is temporarily closed for repairs, so there is no ticket at present. We discovered this scenic spot by chance while hiking on the ancient road of Jugenling, so we took this opportunity to go in and play. It is said that the stones in the valley will emit colorful colors when soaked in water. Now the valley is in a period of water shortage, there is not much water, and the stones are exposed to the outside and have dried up and cannot see any color. Guide to slowing down at Guniujiang
The water at Guniujiang is indeed very good, and the weather is really hot! After arriving at Zhuma Pavilion and taking the classic scenic photos, we decisively returned and took another route to Yanjia Ancient Village.
Although Yanjia Ancient Village still has original residents, the commercial atmosphere is very strong, basically just a street of local specialties, not much to see. There is a tea house at the entrance of the village, and the owner is quite honest. The tea leaves are all home-grown, and we bought a lot while drinking tea to take home as gifts for friends and family.
Walking 200 meters further from Yanjia Ancient Village is the Four-Tiered Waterfall, which is quite impressive. The key is that the mist at the bottom of the waterfall is cool, and anyone walking below can't resist stepping into the water a bit. I regret not wearing sandals.
The entire Guniujiang scenic area is not very large. If you don't play in the water, you can walk through it in about an hour and a half.
