Popular Queue Ramen Shop Next to Taipei Shilin MRT Station: Kakurega Ramen
Shilin's popular ramen shop, Kakurega Ramen, is located right next to Exit 2 of the Shilin MRT station, offering a rich tonkotsu broth. Ordering is done via a vending machine, and on weekdays at noon, you'll only need to wait a little, about 5-10 minutes.
I ordered the basic tonkotsu soy sauce ramen, which came with a bunch of green onions and a thick slice of char siu. The white soup was very rich, having been simmered to perfection. If the meat is not enough, you can order an extra meat platter, which is quite a good deal. The price has now increased to 220 TWD.
The staff are friendly, and the overall experience is good. Next time, I might try the duck white soup ramen, which sounds intriguing.
