I've infiltrated the Maasai tribe! The "terrifying upright ape" who fights lions alone
On a safari in Tanzania, I passed by a Maasai tribe
Of course, I had to see the legendary Maasai people who eat raw meat and drink blood, and fight large carnivores
There are about 20 Maasai tribes in the Serengeti area
There is a welcome ceremony when you enter the village, with men and women separated
Dressed in Maasai clothing, wearing a large necklace, a quick change of outfit
You can also join their dance, it's a fun experience!
They demonstrated how to make fire by drilling wood, rubbing a wooden stick on a piece of wood, and after it smokes, the fallen wood chips are placed in a block of grass that is easy to ignite and blown on, and the flame comes out! 🔥 Seeing it with my own eyes is quite magical~
Taking a photo with Maasai women, their ears are full of piercings, hanging various earrings, making a crisp sound when they shake their heads~
The village is small, surrounded by mud houses, the houses are very simple, you can say that apart from the bed, there is a stove for making fire, it's really a minimalist life...
Children are in school, the so-called school is a classroom of a thatched house, Maasai children have started learning English
On the way out of the village, I saw many Maasai herders. In order to protect the cattle and sheep, fighting with lions and cheetahs is also one of their necessary survival skills.
People who have been in the city for too long have almost forgotten their terrifying upright ape genes. I always thought that humans are very fragile, prone to illness, afraid of cold and heat, but after coming to Africa, I realized that being able to survive in such a survival of the fittest grassland, to continue to exist, to become the top of the food chain, human combat power is actually far beyond our own imagination.

Because I heard that late July and early August is the best time to see wildebeest crossing the river, I booked a flight to Tanzania for early August. However, due to weather conditions this year, most of the wildebeest had already crossed the river by early July, which was a bit disappointing. But I still saw other animals, so it was definitely worth the trip.
I had always heard that Ethiopian Airlines was unreliable, with many cases of lost luggage. But we were lucky; our luggage was intact from the flight there to the flight back.
Flying from Pudong directly to Africa, crossing the Red Sea and the Great Rift Valley of East Africa, flying over Mount Kilimanjaro, and landing at Kilimanjaro Airport. From Arusha to Karatu, then to the Ngorongoro Crater, the safari officially began, and I saw more wildlife than I had ever seen in my life. Wildebeest, antelope, zebra, buffalo, rhino, giraffe, and more. We were quite lucky to see the Big Five in a single day.
From the Ngorongoro Crater to the Serengeti, we saw leopards, cheetahs, lions, and other top predators. We were also fortunate to witness the entire courtship and mating process of ostriches. The last stop was Lake Natron, where we saw the sacred mountain of the Maasai people, Ol Doinyo Lengai, and flocks of flamingos.
Tanzania is also a tipping country, and both US dollars and the local currency, shillings, are accepted. Currency exchange at the airport is relatively favorable. Be sure to take sun protection seriously, as it is near the equator and the midday sun is very strong. It generally doesn't rain during the dry season, but we experienced a thunderstorm one day, which the guide said was the first time he had seen it. Due to relatively underdeveloped infrastructure, the roads are quite dusty, so it's best to wear durable clothing. In terms of food, it can't compare to the great Chinese cuisine. Since we spent many days on safari in off-road vehicles, we mostly ate lunch boxes provided by the hotels.

Tanzania Safari Arusha Hotel Recommendation: Lemala
Recorder of romantic life, Tanzania travel, Tanzania safari hotel recommendation, Lemala
Arusha is the first stop for most people on a Tanzania safari.
First of all, this hotel is closer to Kilimanjaro International Airport than Arusha on the map, but because you have to take a dirt road, the actual travel time is similar to that of hotels in Arusha. Due to limited lighting on the dirt road, guests arriving late may find the road desolate and scary, but those who arrive early during the day and like tranquility will find it very suitable.
The hotel has only 4 standalone cottages, which are spacious, bright, elegant, and comfortable. There is also a beautiful swimming pool and lawn, perfect for relaxing.
Secondly, the area is somewhat like a villa district, with an 18-hole golf course. It is especially recommended to ask the staff to take you to the golf course to watch the sunset in the evening. As long as you don't ask for drinks, it is free. You may encounter antelopes and other animals along the way, which is a very nice experience.
In addition, the hotel offers free hand laundry service. After washing and drying, they fold it neatly and deliver it back to you, which is very convenient and hassle-free.
The head chef of the hotel is very enthusiastic, chatting with you about various topics and asking for your opinion on the food. Of course, the food is also quite good.
Overall, the experience at this hotel is excellent, with a great vacation atmosphere, and is highly recommended.

KITANO TOURS AND SAFARIS
The Ultimate Guide to the Great Migration in Tanzania
Experiencing the Great Migration from a first-person perspective remains the ultimate dream for travelers. In European aristocracy, going on an African safari is considered the trendiest form of entertainment. Safari means 'observing or hunting animals in their natural habitat.' Hundreds of years have passed, but witnessing the Great Migration up close is still a dream for many travelers.
🔹 Immerse yourself in the pristine habitats of wildlife, feel the hurried footsteps of wildebeests crossing the river, crocodiles lying in wait, ready to strike at any moment. Joy and sorrow unfold within seconds, the food chain's predator-prey dynamics condensed into a constantly moving picture, revealing nature's rawness and cruelty. This is the fascinating charm of the Great Migration.
🔹 Every June, as the migration season begins, tourists flock in, almost flattening the grasslands of East Africa. 😫
💎 In fact, there's an ultimate way to experience Africa—staying at the Singita camp, which costs $7,000 per night, and watching the Great Migration from the comfort of your bed.
💎 Bill Gates and David Beckham are followers of this method. The British royal family considers Singita their exclusive vacation spot, and Condé Nast Traveler has ranked Singita as the world's best hotel for several consecutive years.
🔹 For Singita, running a luxury hotel is a secondary business; their primary focus is on environmental conservation. The hotel does not use plastic products, all electricity comes from renewable sources, and their emphasis on ecology grants them many 'privileges.'
👉 Singita is allowed to set up camps in the Serengeti, the starting point of the annual migration. Staying at Singita means living in the heart of the Great Migration.
👉 Each Singita camp is a large private nature reserve. African elephants might greet you with their trunks outside your window, and agile cheetahs might climb onto the roof, offering a true sense of 'living with the beasts.'
🔹 However, in East Africa, there are only 8 Singita camps, each with a limited number of rooms, making them highly sought after every year!
🔹 In May, Singita's new camp, Singita Milele, will open in the Grumeti Reserve, setting a new standard for luxury in Africa.
👉 The camp is located by the Grumeti River, the largest river in Tanzania's Serengeti National Park and a crucial point in the Great Migration. Staying here almost guarantees a front-row seat to the migration.
👉 Singita Milele has very few rooms, with only one private villa, the highest configuration among all Singita camps.
👉 The villa has five suites, accommodating up to 10 guests, with panoramic floor-to-ceiling windows, a large media room, a fitness center, and an infinity pool, all standard Singita amenities. During your stay, you can enjoy complete privacy.
👉 The camp is fully staffed with guides, chefs, butlers, and housekeeping teams, offering off-road and walking experiences in the reserve daily. Between watching the migration, you can also interact closely with lively wildlife.
For privacy reasons, Singita Milele has not released interior photos, but we can glimpse its luxury through the designs of other Singita villas.

Where the two great wildlife parks meet
The Masai Mara and Serengeti are contiguous ecosystems located in Kenya and Tanzania, respectively. The border between the two is largely unmarked and indistinguishable in the wilderness, as the landscape and wildlife flow seamlessly from one reserve to the other. The border area features rolling plains, acacia woodlands, and riverine forests. The terrain is characterized by vast open savannahs that support large herbivore populations.

Immersed in Africa's Wildlife Wonderland
The Serengeti, stretching across northern Tanzania, is one of Africa's most iconic wildlife destinations. Famous for the annual Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest and zebras traverse the vast savannah, this UNESCO World Heritage site is a haven for wildlife enthusiasts seeking a true safari experience.
What to Expect
Visitors to the Serengeti will find themselves surrounded by a seemingly endless plain dotted with acacia trees and rolling hills, home to a diverse array of wildlife. The ecosystem supports the Big Five (lion, leopard, rhinoceros, elephant, and buffalo) and countless other species. The Great Migration, with its dramatic river crossings and predatory pursuits, is one of the most spectacular natural events on Earth, offering an unparalleled opportunity to witness nature's raw power.
Experiences and Recommendations
Game drives are essential to explore the different regions of the Serengeti. The Central Serengeti, or Seronera, is known for its abundant predators, while the Western Corridor and Grumeti River are prime spots during the migration. For a unique perspective, a hot air balloon ride at dawn provides breathtaking views of the landscape and wildlife below. In the evening, unwind at a safari lodge or tented camp, where sundowners around a campfire and storytelling add to the adventure.
Tips and Tricks
The best time to visit depends on what you wish to see. The migration is most active from June to September, but wildlife is present year-round. Pack lightweight, neutral-colored clothing for game drives and bring a good pair of binoculars and a camera with a zoom lens to capture the wildlife. Sunscreen, a hat, and insect repellent are essential for the hot, sunny days and occasional biting insects.
Personal Reflections
Watching the Great Migration unfold across the plains of the Serengeti was an unforgettable spectacle. Seeing herds of wildebeest stretching to the horizon, pursued by lions and hyenas, made me feel like I was part of a National Geographic documentary. The stillness of the evening, broken only by the sounds of distant roars and rustling grass, highlighted the untamed beauty of the Serengeti.
For those drawn to the wild and primal world of Africa's savannahs, the Serengeti offers a once-in-a-lifetime journey into the heart of one of the world's greatest natural ecosystems.

Serengeti National Park
It's a really beautiful park. It's so vast and there's so much to see. It's well-preserved, and there's no off-road driving. The guides here are polite and well-informed. It is the land of the Big Five, so rest assured that you can easily find them. The number of wildlife and zebras here is wild. They number in the hundreds, thousands. You definitely can't miss the wildebeest migration. I would do a safari in the Serengeti any number of times.
Amazing experience! Definitely need a good local guide... They have very sharp eyesight for spotting animals! All of the Big Five are very close, except for the rhinos which are mostly far away. Many other animals and millions of wildebeest move north through the river in early August - it's special!
I would definitely consider going back! Next time, I might consider adding a walking tour or hiking - this time it was all sitting in a car 😊
The park lived up to its reputation as the best in East Africa. We spent 4 days in a private vehicle with Access 2 Tanzania (a highly recommended company) and saw a variety of animals, birds, and habitats. It was special to be able to get so close to the big cats (there are many here). The roads are quite bumpy, so be prepared to travel a lot, but it's worth seeing the place. We mostly stayed at the western and northern ends of the park to get away from the crowds coming to the central area, Seronera. We participated in the great wildlife and zebra migration for a day, and it was worth it.
We also had to watch a mother cheetah and her four cubs stalking and eventually catching a gazelle. Wow, what an amazing experience.
You can't go wrong with a safari to the Serengeti.

What is migration in Serengeti?
The Great Wildebeest Migration is the largest animal migration in the world. Every year, more than 2 million animals (wildebeest, zebra, and gazelle) migrate in a clockwise direction across the ecosystems of the Serengeti which is in (Tanzania) and the Masai Mara (Kenya). And this crossing it can be seen in the Mara River, at the kongatende Area.

African Holiday Safari
Safari Splendor in Serengeti
My safari in Serengeti National Park was an unforgettable foray into the heart of the African wilderness, a close encounter with nature at its most raw and beautiful🦁. The endless plains, dotted with acacia trees and teeming with wildlife, presented a spectacle straight out of a nature documentary. From majestic lions to graceful giraffes, each moment was a new revelation in the circle of life🦒.
The highlight was witnessing the Great Migration. The sight of thousands of wildebeest and zebras thundering across the plains in unison was awe-inspiring and humbling, a testament to nature's grandeur and complexity🦬.
For those embarking on this adventure, I recommend staying in a tented camp for a truly immersive experience. Falling asleep to the sounds of the African night and waking up to a golden sunrise over the savannah is magical🌅.
Hiring a knowledgeable local guide enhances the experience significantly. Not only do they know the best spots for wildlife sightings, but they also offer insights into the animals' behaviors and the park's ecology🌍.
Be prepared for early mornings and varying weather. Bring binoculars, a good camera, and lots of memory space for all the photos you'll want to take📷.
Respect the wildlife and maintain a safe distance. Remember, you are a visitor in their home. The park's rules are in place to protect both the animals and visitors🚫.

Safari Splendors in Serengeti National Park
My recent safari adventure in Serengeti National Park, Tanzania, was an awe-inspiring journey into the heart of Africa's wildlife wonderland. Serengeti offers an unparalleled opportunity to witness the natural world's most magnificent spectacles.
The #SafariSplendors in Serengeti National Park begin as you enter the vast savannahs and grasslands teeming with wildlife. The Great Migration, where millions of wildebeest, zebras, and gazelles move in search of fresh pastures, is a sight that defies imagination.
Game drives in the Serengeti provide opportunities to spot the Big Five (lion, leopard, elephant, buffalo, and rhinoceros) and countless other species. The Ngorongoro Crater, often called the "eighth wonder of the world," is another must-visit location for wildlife enthusiasts.
Birdwatchers will be delighted by the diverse avian species in the park, including colorful flamingos, raptors, and vibrant songbirds.
Camping in the Serengeti under the starlit African sky is an experience like no other. The sounds of the wilderness and the distant roars of lions create a mesmerizing atmosphere.
Local Maasai communities offer cultural insights and opportunities to learn about their traditional way of life.
Tanzanian cuisine, with dishes like nyama choma (grilled meat) and ugali (maize porridge), provides nourishment after a day of adventure.
When planning a safari in Serengeti National Park, consider the best time for wildlife viewing, typically during the dry season from June to September. Booking safaris and accommodations well in advance is advisable.
In conclusion, the Serengeti is a destination that immerses you in the grandeur of Africa's wildlife and landscapes. Whether you're a wildlife enthusiast, a photographer, or simply seeking the thrill of an authentic safari, the Serengeti's splendors will leave you with indelible memories. #SerengetiSafari #WildlifeWonderland

Chasing Sunsets in the Serengeti
As an avid traveler, I've had my fair share of breathtaking destinations, but nothing compares to the awe-inspiring beauty of the Serengeti National Park. From lush grasslands to captivating wildlife, this African gem is a must-visit for nature enthusiasts and adventure seekers alike.
The Serengeti offers an unparalleled wildlife experience, where you can witness the mighty herds of wildebeest and zebras during the Great Migration. It's truly a sight to behold, watching these animals traverse the vast plains, effortlessly swaying with the rhythm of nature. Don't forget to bring your binoculars and camera to capture these incredible moments.
Beyond the wildlife, the Serengeti also boasts stunning landscapes. The golden sunsets bathing the savannah in a warm glow are simply mesmerizing. Trust me, you'll want to carve out time to simply sit and appreciate the beauty unfolding before your eyes.
For practical recommendations, I suggest visiting during the dry season (June to October) to maximize wildlife sightings. Be sure to book a safari tour with a reputable company to ensure a knowledgeable guide who can enrich your experience with their insights and expertise.
When it comes to accommodations, there are various options ranging from luxury lodges to tented camps, each offering a unique experience. Personally, I found staying in a tented camp to be an unforgettable adventure, immersing myself in nature while still enjoying the comfort and security of a cozy bed.
Lastly, don't forget to respect the environment and wildlife. Follow park rules and regulations, maintain a safe distance from animals, and avoid littering. By doing so, you play a role in preserving this pristine ecosystem for generations to come.
So, pack your sense of wonder and embark on a journey to the Serengeti. Witness the untamed beauty of nature, feel the thrill of close encounters with wildlife, and chase those unforgettable sunsets that will forever stay etched in your memory. #SerengetiSunsets #WildlifeWonders #UnforgettableAdventures

A Journey into Africa's Untamed Beauty
2023- Amidst the Serengeti's vast expanse, guided by Maasai tracker Kito, witnessed nature's symphony. Wildebeests and zebras danced, elephants graced watering holes, and lions lounged beneath acacia trees. A night around the campfire under the African stars unfolded stories, and dawn brought a magical balloon-filled sunrise. A rare cheetah sighting marked the peak, revealing that the Serengeti's true allure lay not just in its sights, but in the profound connection with Africa's untamed beauty.
