Exploring Cheddar – Nature, History, and Flavour in One Perfect Escape 🇬🇧✨
My visit to Cheddar was truly unforgettable — a perfect blend of adventure, beauty, and local charm. The stunning Cheddar Gorge took my breath away with its dramatic cliffs and scenic views, a must-see for nature lovers and photographers alike. I enjoyed a peaceful walk through the village, where every corner felt like a step back in time. Of course, tasting the world-famous Cheddar cheese made right here was the highlight of the trip — creamy, rich, and full of local character! From caves to countryside, Cheddar offers a relaxing yet inspiring experience that captures the heart of rural England. Definitely a destination worth adding to your travel list. #CheddarGorge #VisitEngland #TravelGuide #NatureLovers #TravelWithTong

If you love a good outdoor challenge, Cheddar Gorge in Somerset is the place to go. Starting from the Black Rock car park, you can climb up the gorge for free along the public hiking trail — no tickets needed! The path takes you past stunning limestone cliffs, winding trails, and incredible views over the Mendip Hills. It’s a proper leg workout but totally worth it once you reach the top. Along the way, you might spot some wild goats or falcons too. Bring sturdy shoes, a drink, and your camera — this hike is pure Somerset magic!

Cheddar Gorge and Caves
#uktrip Incredible caves. It took millions of years to form and now we get to enjoy them.
Enjoyed a splendid talk on creating fire at the Museum too.
Has a 3 mile walk over the hill around the george. We didn't do it this time, but hopefully next time.
It was only my intention to drive through the gorge but cheddar is such a lovely place we stopped and took a stroll through..
Visited the original cheddar shop bought a gift or two and walked back to the car..
As I said cheddar is a beautiful place and the gorge is absolutely a stunning piece of nature..
Unfortunately due to my wife's mobility issues we were unable to visit the caves or walk the trails..
But after visiting i would definitely say it is something to try if you can..
Looks amazing.. looked like it's a very popular attraction and finding a car parking space can be difficult at times.. lots of small parking lots dotted along the route
