Unseen beautiful rocks of Satun sea #Koh Hin Ngam Who has been there? Share your photos.
Koh Hin Ngam is a small island in the middle of the sea in Tarutao National Park, Satun Province. It is an island full of shiny black pebbles with beautiful patterns that we want everyone to visit at least once. Koh Hin Ngam is considered the first global geopark in Thailand and the 5th in ASEAN. The beach is full of black rocks, different sizes and sizes, but the similarity of all rocks is that they are smooth and round. When exposed to water and sunlight, they will become beautifully shiny.
The formation of these rocks is related to geological processes. The source is located in the south of the island, where coastal currents flow around to the rounded gravel sandbar. Along the distance of the coastal currents, the rocks are constantly rubbed against each other, causing them to become smaller along the distance and become more rounded until they accumulate on the gravel sandbar.
Koh Hin Ngam is part of the Adang-Rawi archipelago, approximately 2.5 kilometers from Koh Adang. The most convenient way to get there is to charter a long-tail boat from Koh Lipe. It takes about 20 minutes to travel.
But with the beauty of the rocks on this beautiful stone island, many people who come here want to own beautiful rocks..Therefore, there is a warning sign here, which is the curse of the Lord of Tarutao, to prevent anyone from taking rocks off the island seriously in 3 languages: Thai, English and Chinese, which says "The curse of the Lord of Tarutao, whoever dares to take rocks from this island will encounter all kinds of disasters, will never return home, will have an accident, will be fired from work, will encounter endless disasters..."
For us, just visiting and taking pictures to keep as memories is already great.🧡
