Aspendos Roman Theater, Türkiye
#Halloween2023 Asbandos is an ancient Greco-Roman city in the Turkish province of Antalya.
Asbandos is known for having the most complete preserved ancient Roman theater.
The theater was built during the reign of Marcus Aurelius, the last emperor of the Five Sages of Rome. The theater has a diameter of 96 meters and can accommodate 9000 people.
Like similar buildings from the Roman period, in order to save construction costs, the designer chose to design the audience seats with the help of the natural slope of the mountain. Since 1994, the annual Asbandos International Opera and Ballet Festival has been organized at the theater by the Turkish National Opera and Ballet Company and participated by several opera and ballet companies around the world in June and July each year.
Dalida, a well-known artist who was born in Egypt and naturalized to France, gave his last concert on April 28, 1987 in Aspendos.
In 1988, a Universal Encyclopedia survey, published in the French newspaper Le Monde, ranked Dalida as the second most influential figure in French society, behind only General Charles de Gaulle. #OverseasTravel #Turkey #TurkeyTravel #TurkeyTravel #TurkeyTravel #Turkish Attractions #Antalya #AncientRome #ExploringAncientRoma #AncientRomanTheatre #Mediterranean
