Viettrekking Sapa - Vietnam 🇻🇳 A popular hotel that many tourists choose to stay at. This hotel offers a unique view, unlike any other. Some room types offer mountain views and trains passing by from the bedroom. Another highlight is the rooftop swimming pool 🏊🏻 with panoramic views of Fansipan and Muong Hoa Valley. But honestly, I couldn't swim; it was too cold. ⛰️ We didn't choose a room on that side because we weren't in the room much and we thought we'd be blocked by fog 😂. So, we chose a standard room, which wasn't bad at all. It was a room for three people for around 2,000 baht, including breakfast. It was very spacious and could comfortably fit a large suitcase. If you arrive before check-in time, you can shower and leave your luggage in the lobby. However, there's only one shower room, so if there are a lot of people, there might be a long queue. Cat Cat Village - Sapa, Vietnam 🇻🇳 Cat Cat Village is a village nestled in a valley ⛰️ About 2-3 kilometers from Sapa city, it emphasizes natural beauty, surrounded by mountains, waterfalls, and terraced rice fields. The village retains its tribal identity, with its clothing and handicrafts. The village's name isn't derived from the abundance of cats, but from the waterfall itself. 🌊 If you're into photography, I recommend renting traditional costumes from the front of the village. 🙌🏻 Any shop you like will have similar prices. It's worth it, and I think they're beautiful and well-prepared, with many styles. I didn't wear them, so my mom wore them instead. 😂 It's around 400 baht. The village entrance fee is around 150,000 VND. From there, you can walk or take a golf cart to the entrance. There's a fee, but I can't remember how much. Then, you'll walk down a bit of a hill, with easy stairs. The descent isn't too bad. I slipped a couple of times, and it wasn’t just me; a few people on the tour struggled with the steep descents. If you’re confident in navigating on your own, I’d actually recommend doing the trek independently. Joining the tour means you’re following a fixed path, and they made us go all the way down into the valley, which felt unnecessarily risky in wet conditions. Yes, we did get to see waterfalls, local houses, and scenic views up close, but the descent was honestly a bit dangerous. At the end of the trek, things got a little uncomfortable — an aunty who followed us the whole way started pushing us to give extra tips and tried to sell souvenirs at a much higher price. It felt quite forced, so just be prepared and firm if you’re not interested. 🌧 Day 1: The morning in Sapa greeted us with heavy rain, so instead of heading out as planned, we decided to unwind and enjoy a relaxing massage at the hotel — a spontaneous change that turned out to be surprisingly pleasant. By the afternoon, the rain had stopped. We visited Cat Cat Village, taking a peaceful stroll through the serene landscape and exploring the rich cultural heritage of the H’Mong people. Later, we had a delightful experience picking fresh, juicy plums straight from the trees — sweet, crisp, and as refreshing as the mountain air itself. ⛰ Day 2: No trip to Sapa would be complete without a journey to the top of Fansipan – the Roof of Indochina. We purchased a round-trip combo ticket that included both the cable car and the Muong Hoa mountain train. As the cable car glided above the clouds, the view was absolutely breathtaking — a sea of drifting mist, majestic mountains, and a sense of being embraced by nature itself. Although it was summer, the weather at over 3,000 meters was chilly and windy, so don’t forget to bring a warm jacket. It takes 8 hours by sleeper train from Hanoi Station. After arriving at Lao Cai Station, take a bus or taxi for about an hour and you will see the city! The city is located near the border with China and is 1,600m above sea level! The city itself is small, but it is mostly slopes and the climb is quite tough🚶 There are ethnic people all over the city and they try to sell you things, but the prices are quite high, so try to bargain! Not enough!! Ordered another chicken menu. It's like steamed chicken with ginger. Oh my god, it's half a chicken. 55555 I couldn't finish anything because it was so much and so delicious. . - Turning In Bar Jicha 🍻 Stopped by for a sip of sparkling water to warm up. There were only drinks and snacks. No food. Good music. Excellent service. . - Mala 🍽 This is on the way back to the hotel. When I saw it, I had to try it. I bought it back to eat in the room. If you like nature and Southeast Asia, I highly recommend Sapa.🫶🏽 🗺️Places to visit in Sapa 📍Cat Cat Village - A village where ethnic minorities gather, it is a beautiful village that is like Howl's Moving Castle itself. 📍Fansipan - Fansipan, called the roof of the Indochina Peninsula. It is said that only three generations of virtue can see the clear Fansipan. That makes it difficult to see Fansipan on a clear day! 📍Sapa Lake - A place where you can take a picture of your life with European-style architecture as the background. It is quite large, so it was good for a walk.🩵 📍TTTM Sun Plaza - The center of Sapa. Starting from here, there are many restaurants, cafes, and massage shops! 📍Lao Chai & Ta Van Village - A mecca for trekkers. Having been to Sapa before, we were excited to return and delve deeper into its natural beauty and cultural treasures. This second trip enabled us to discover some lesser-known yet equally stunning spots that we highly recommend to anyone visiting. We started our day at O Quy Ho Pass, also known as Heaven’s Gate, which offers a breathtaking panoramic view of the Hoang Lien Son Mountain Range. As the sun rose, the mist slowly lifted, revealing layers of mountains bathed in golden light. This spot is perfect for dramatic landscape photography 📸 I’d recommend arriving by 5:30 AM ⛅️ to catch the sunrise. 📍Highway 4D, O Quy Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province After sunrise, we visited Ta Phin Village, home to the Red Dao ethnic minority. We explored the traditional stilt houses, lush rice terraces, and the Ta Phin Monastery ruins. The vibrant red costumes of the locals provided beautiful contrasts in our photos 📸 Around 8 AM–10 AM is the best time to visit when the light highlights the details of the rice fields and village life. 📍Ta Phin Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province Mid-morning, we returned to Cat Cat Village, a charming village known for its cascading waterfalls and traditional Black Hmong culture. We trekked along the scenic pathways and captured stunning photos of locals weaving textiles, as well as the picturesque Cat Cat Waterfall. Arrive around 10:30 AM to avoid crowds and enjoy great lighting for portraits 📸 📍Cat Cat Village, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province We also headed to Topas Ecolodge, a luxurious retreat perched on a hill with 360-degree views of the surrounding rice terraces. The serene ambiance and infinity pool overlooking the mountains made it one of the most photogenic spots on our trip. I’d recommend trying their Vietnamese set menu while soaking in the view. 📍Thanh Kim Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province We also explored the Silver Waterfall, where the cascading water glistens in the sunlight. We hiked up to the viewing platform for sweeping views of the waterfall and the lush forest below. Arriving at 3 PM gave us soft and golden light, which added a magical touch to our photos 📸 📍Highway 4D, San Sa Ho Commune, Sapa, Lao Cai Province To end our day, we took the cable car 🚠 to Fansipan Peak, the highest mountain ⛰️ in Indochina. Watching the sunset from the summit was an unforgettable experience, with clouds rolling over the peaks and the sky painted in hues of orange and pink. This is a must-visit for landscape and panoramic shots 📸 Arrive by 4:30 PM to catch the golden hour and sunset at 5:30 PM. 📍Fansipan Legend Cable Car Station, Sapa, Lao Cai Province This second trip to Sapa was even more magical than our first.
