Many people visit just to see this! Yes, it's the island's beloved animal, the quokka😊 They are marsupials of the kangaroo family and wallaby genus, and they live all over the island. In order to protect the original ecosystem here, there are rules such as - Do not feed - Do not touch - Do not take flash photography ⚠️ Please follow these rules and enjoy! They are used to people and will approach you, so don't let their cuteness fool you😆 After going around half the island, I realized that the easiest place to meet quokkas is in the store area near the port or in the residential area☝️ So, if you just want to meet quokkas, you don't need to go around the island🤔 However, there are an overwhelming number of tourists in the store area, so it may be difficult to take your time to face them and take pictures. The residential area a little further north is more relaxing, and the place I enjoyed the most this time was the junction of Strue Rd and Kingsway, so please use this as a reference 🖐️ The Quokka's face changes drastically depending on the angle you take the photo 🪄 A low angle is essential to get a smiling face. A mobile phone is definitely more convenient for photos like that 🤳 But to see the fur, a single-lens camera is still the best! 21km island cycling in about 3.5 hours🚲 Starting and ending at the port, we cycled clockwise from the southern part of the island to the lighthouse to the salt lake to the northern part of the island. If you want to see the magnificent natural beauty, the southern area is the place to go. The sights are concentrated along Parker Point Road, and you can enjoy the beauty of the ocean that is typical of Rottnest Island🏖️ Henrietta Rocks (2nd photo), Parker Point (3rd photo), Jeannies Lookout (4th photo) are all located on high ground, so you can enjoy an open view, and you can easily splash around in the water at Little Salmon Bay🛟 (1st, 5th, 6th photos) Wadjamup Lighthouse (9th photo) stands in the center of the island. Many people choose this as their turning point🖐️ This is the highest point on the island (10th photo). If you head north from the lighthouse, you will enter the salt lake zone. Pink Lake (11th photo), rich in minerals and showing a unique color, wasn't that pink 😅 But there were red plants (coral grass?) growing in clusters, and it felt like another world 🪸 The northern part of the island has a tranquil atmosphere. Just a short walk from the port where the high-speed ferry arrives, there are several restaurants and other establishments lined up in the island's rustic downtown area. If you want to travel around the island, it's best to have lunch here first to use your time more efficiently~👋 So we had an early lunch! The bakery🥯 and Italian🍕 were particularly busy, but we headed straight for "The Lane Cafe". Although it's primarily a cafe, we wanted to try their specialty menu. That's CRAY DOG✨ A hamburger made with grilled crayfish (local spiny lobster) in garlic and olive oil, sandwiched together with fresh vegetables, the balance of the spiciness of the jalapeño and the mellow lime-flavored mayonnaise makes it an irresistibly delicious dish😋 Although it's only AUD24, it's full of meat and has a satisfying texture that's so plump it almost pops! I was very satisfied and ate it all in one go👍 The area around each store is full of quokkas. You will have, too! 💞 This is PINKY BEACH, Rottnest Island, don’t confuse with the PINK LAKE… that’s another beach with (sometime) pinky-ish color depending on your angle and time of day. Tips! 1. Get the earliest trip to get a quiet morning stroll at the forefront, lovely breakfast if you haven’t already 2. If possible, include the bike in your ticket (saves you trouble, i’m telling you!) we waisted a good 2hours and wasn’t even able to get the proper size for our height😩😝) 3. Stroll around first don’t waste ypur time for a lot of clicks but if you can squeeze 2-3min do it. 4. It is a beautiful island with clear weather and an emerald sea. I saw cute quokkas that can only be seen there and was so intoxicated by nature that I was happy all day long. I highly recommend this place as a great place to make memories with family and lovers.

#bucketlistreboot if you're looking to treat yourself to a relaxation trip you have to book this honey moon suite at rottenest discovery hotel. The honeymoon suite comes with a gorgeous bathroom, a kitchenette with everything you need, a walk in closet, a spacious deck with sitting area to watch the sunset & a bbq pit to cook. Its an understatement to say the bed is comfy because it's literally one of the best one i have laid in. A little problem we had was the seagulls does circle around your balcony if you're cooking around sunset time, but once the sunset its all good! They offer different rooms for different budget so if the honeymoon suite is too much, they have other rooms available too! Overall a great experience and stay, would definitely go back to treat ourself again 😍

Visiting rottenest island had to be one of our main highlight when we were there! 😍 Visit the beautiful beaches with the gorgeous view of the Indian ocean, snap a selfie with the little quokka roaming the island or visit one of the many restaurant along the coast & beaches of the island. We rented a bike to cycled around the island which was super fun, if you think cycling might be too tired you can rent a electrical bike like we did that made exploring so much easier as we had the energy to appreciate the view! Or you can ditch cycling & go with the tram that circles the island too! 😉

Relax on some Rotto famous beaches ( there 60 over secluded beaches and 20 over bays on this island, each with spectacular view ) 3. Visit Oliver Hill Guns and Tunnels (history from second world war if you care to explore more ) 4. Join a heritage / cultural tour around the island to understand more 5. Rent your own bike and explore! ( there's electric bikes for rental too, for people who can't manage sooooo many uphill climbs of the island, and yes that's me) 6. QUOKKA SELFIE!!! In recent years, this short-tailed kangaroo has become famous all over the world for being regarded as the world's most funny little animal, but when I went to Australia, Rottnest Island was not such a popular attraction~ It is really convenient to take the Rottnest Express from Perth Fremantle to Rottnest Island, about half an hour away, as convenient as going to Lamma Island, and the boat is very smooth all the way. Rottnest Island is not very big, if you just want to come and find Quokka, in fact, the early boat to the late boat away is enough, and we chose to stay one night at that time~ The roads to this small island are easy to find and you can actually explore the whole island very quickly by bike. But on the way to meet Quokka, it will be delayed a lot of time! Because they are really too cute, and gossip and relatives, they will take the initiative to come to find you, so selfie is not difficult! Rottnest Island, Perth Rottnest Island is located about 20km offshore from Fremantle, a port city near Perth. You can visit it as a day trip from Perth. One-day tours are also held, so it's easy to make reservations from Japan and I recommend it. The ocean is simply beautiful. Rottnest Island is an island 19km away from Perth. To get there, you have to take a ferry through the dock. You can book a ferry at Barrack Street Pier or Fremantle Port and board it. This is a relatively large island with 63 beaches and 20 bays. It is a fantastic place where you can see pure white sand and emerald sea anywhere. There is a shuttle bus inside the island, so I recommend taking the bus to get around. And if you come to this island, you have to complete one mission. That is, take a picture with a quokka. The thing to be careful about is that you must never touch a quokka with your hands. You will be fined, so be careful about this and take a picture.
