Rosslyn chapel
#Visit architecture Rosslyn chapel is an old church near the city of Edinburgh. The outside is beautiful, but the inside is even more beautiful. The church does not allow taking pictures inside. I took pictures from the photos that the church uses to show tourists inside.
Admission fee for adults is £ 10.50 per person. Children under 15 years old are free.
If you are ready to see the beauty of the place, let's follow the pictures.

Coffee shop inside Rosslyn Chapel
This coffee shop is surprisingly good. We stopped there before the visit. You can admire the view from your table. The building is very beautiful and totally in theme of the Chapel.
The chocolate brownie was very good but the carrot cake is the big winner. They also sell sandwiches or teas.
I recommend to get a table next to the windows. The staff was very helpful and polite.

Rosslyn Chapel: did I find the Grail?
I went to Rosslyn Chapel this weekend for a quick afternoon visit.
You can get to Rosslyn by taking bus number 37 towards Penicuik on Princes Street. The bus ride takes approximately 50 minutes. The entry costs 9.5 euros per adult.
The church is quite small but very ornate. It is one of the most beautiful church I have ever seen. I hope you can take my word for it 🤣🙈 ...please note it is forbidden to take pictures inside the church.
The history of the building is quite impressive (you can learn more about it before the visit by solving the riddles).
Do not miss the basement as it is where they have pictures of the actor of The Da Vinci Code, as well as one of the room where they filmed.

【Rosslyn Chapel】A unique medieval church
#church
Whether you are on a spiritual pilgrimage or simply want to appreciate the unique architectural scenery, Rosslyn Chapel is definitely a stop you cannot miss!
The church stands quietly before our eyes. Its appearance looks plain and simple, but it also exudes a distant and solemn atmosphere. Pushing open the heavy wooden door, what comes into view is a quiet and solemn scene, as if time has frozen in this small chapel. 🕰️
Wooden chairs and wood carvings bearing traces of time can be seen everywhere inside the church. The most attractive thing is the stained glass windows! The sunlight shines in through these glass windows, casting a dazzling light on the room, making the whole space seem blessed, warm and dreamy!

Checking in at the UK's most mysterious church, which became famous because of a book, attracting numerous visitors
A single book, 'The Da Vinci Code', has shrouded the church in the small town of Roslin, just south of Edinburgh, in mystery and made this ancient church world-famous, also turning it into a favorite spot for book lovers to check in. This time coming to Scotland, I made a special trip to visit the church.
Compared to those ancient churches in Europe, this church is not very large, and its ochre stone walls are covered with the mottled traces of time. The interior decoration of the church is not luxurious, but it is very exquisite, with a dazzling array of stone carvings that are of great artistic value. Unfortunately, photography is not allowed inside the church, so I can only show you the outside of the church.
Since its construction in the 15th century, the church has always been obscure until the publication of 'The Da Vinci Code'. The book claims that the mummy of Jesus is hidden in this church and that the Holy Grail was once escorted here by the Knights Templar. As a result, the church and the entire town have become the hottest tourist destinations in Edinburgh.
In fact, the builders of the church were not the Knights Templar mentioned in the book, and the crypt of the church does not contain any secret underground chambers, and the Rose Line mentioned in the book is not Roslin. Of course, whether it's true or not doesn't seem to matter that much anymore.

Roslin Glen Country Park walk 🍂🏴⛰
After visiting the Rosslyn Chapel, it is a good idea to go on this walk. The start of the path is very close to the Chapel.
The walk will take you around 1 hour and 30 minutes. This is also a very easy walk to do!
You can easily follow the instructions and not get lost (you just have to follow the map). Some of the landmarks are the Gunpowder factory, the river and the picnic tables (I will bring food next time).
Please note that the castle is currently being renovated. So it is difficult to get nice pictures of it.
