All Moments About Roskilde
Viking capital - Roskilde
Roskilde
What was once the capital of Denmark is now a cute little town, easily reached by train from Copenhagen.
It’s a nice trip, perfect for families, solo travellers, friends or couples.
The Viking museum doesn’t seem much online but it’s instead a very interesting experience.
Kids can enjoy making their own boat, adults too 😊.
If you arrive in time there are three guided tours, in three different sections of the museum.
The first one will explain everything you need to know about the “Viking age”, the museum and boat building.
The third is quite fun as well as you will be shown the Viking way of combat (there’s also a slot for families).
The cathedral is quite massive from outside, and inside there are the burial of all kings and queens of Denmark.

[Denmark] Roskilde Cathedral
I went to Roskilde Cathedral in Denmark!
Roskilde Cathedral is registered as a World Heritage Site.
The interior was spectacular.
They were singing hymns inside, and I was invited to join in.
Every detail inside was carefully crafted, and I never got bored of looking at it! The building itself was a work of art!

Roskilde, Must Visit After Copenhagen
Roskilde is a city in Denmark, west of Copenhagen. One hour drive or taking train will take you there.
You will enjoy walking within the calm city both the center and its neighborhood.
Next to its harbor, the Viking Ship Museum has 11th-century vessels and an active boatyard. In its center, the Gothic, twin-spired Roskilde Cathedral holds the tombs of many Danish kings and queens. You can watch directly how wood ships are made.

Roskilde Neighboorhood in Denmark
#europetravel #denmark
Roskilde is ideal for a day trip from Copenhagen. With its picturesque location by the fjord and its rich historical heritage, Roskilde is a perfect place to learn some things about Denmark. In the neighborhood where people live, the houses are painted in yellow. According to some information, it is obliged by the local government. Fun fact, Roskilde is the first capital of Denmark before Copenhagen.

Relaxing in Roskilde-Copenhegen
Today is my last day in Denmark 🇩🇰 so I took a bus from Copenhagen to Roskilde.
Roskilde is a very small town but it has a beautiful landscape and is close to the sea 🌊.
Rodskilde has an Vikings museums and the first place to start Viking, you can buy a ticket to learn more about how to make a Viking boat.
I walked around the nature and sea. I found so many relaxing cows and ate grass 🌿. That's life I just want to be 😆😉
Rodskilde has a lot of beautiful churches, and I was visiting the Roskilde Cathedral, which is one of the most beautiful Scandinavian church styles. I enjoyed sitting there and taking time for myself to think about nothing….no…think about when I will back here again!!!
After that I took a train 🚂 back to Copenhagen and dinner at the Gemini restaurant, it's a Michelin star restaurant and has a really good concept with original Danish food and steps.

The royal
The royal burial church of Denmark and a UNESCO world heritage site. Experience a magnificent church and an architectural masterpiece. 1000 Years of Danish history are gathered here under beautifully decorated vaults and in dark crypts. Here 39 kings and queens of Dnemark lie buried. Roskilde Cathedral is just 20 minutes away by train from Copenhagen central station.

A journey through time and culture.
In Roskilde, Denmark, a city steeped in history, my visit was a journey through time and culture. The Viking Ship Museum, nestled by the harbor, offered a glimpse into the seafaring past with its remarkable 11th-century vessels and bustling boatyard. Walking through the city center, the imposing Gothic architecture of Roskilde Cathedral captivated me, housing the resting place of Danish monarchs across the ages.
A short distance away, the Museum of Contemporary Art, housed within a regal mansion, provided a modern contrast to the city's rich heritage. Venturing westward, the expansive Land of Legends open-air museum transported me back to the eras of the Stone Age and Viking civilization, offering an immersive experience of ancient life. Roskilde, a city of contrasts and timelessness, left an indelible mark on my travels.

The church where the royals of the past rest
Roskilde Cathedral is a World Heritage Site located in Roskilde, Denmark. It contains the graves of past Danish royals.
Roskilde is relatively close to Copenhagen, and can be reached by train on a day trip.
The exterior is solid and made of brick. It is said to be a fusion of Romanesque and Gothic styles.
The interior is spacious, luxurious, and has many things to see.
The city of Roskilde itself left a somewhat fantastical impression, so I recommend visiting it at least once.

UNESCO World Heritage Site.
The most important church in Denmark, the official royal burial church of the Danish monarchs. Beautiful, grand, bright and gloom all in a place. Eat in this small cafe called Conditoriet after! It was good! Discovered it while looking for somewhere not crowded.
Use the Copenhagen card and do 3 attractions in one day to make it worthwhile! Make use of the Large coverage to go further!

The museum consists of two main parts one is the Viking Ship Hal, where several pirate ships are kept; the other is the Boatyard, where archaeological work takes place.
