Super tasty Wagyu and Chirashi at Si Sushi
#bucketlistreboot #sushi
We went there three times in one trip. This is the 3rd.
Location: Punta De Mita, in the central plaza of this organic fishing village.
Food taste: This time, we have chosen Uni (sea urchin), giant clams, chirashi (mix of different sashimi over rice), and wagyu sushi, it was tasty, a highlight of the meal.
This is our first Impression of the place: From outside, it doesn’t look authentic at all. It has an architecture of Japanese temple during Asuka period, when Chinese Tang Dynasty has lots of influence into the Japanese arts and culture. Frankly, we step into the place with doubts.
Our 2nd Impression: Once we step inside, we have discovered two Japanese chefs work tirelessly behind a very beautiful wooden sushi counter. The decoration is tasteful.
Avg. price per person: $75

Food taste: They use blue fin farmed tuna from Mexico. the Kama toro(1st pic) is the fatty neck part of the fish, it is the most tasteful park of the tuna. Melts in our mouths, actually. So creamy. This is the most expensive. $25 a piece.
ChuToro (pic 2), OToro (pic 3) and NigiToro, mixed toro with green onions (pic 3) are equally tasty.

Codex Restaurant at Conrad Punta de Mita Hotel|||Codex Restaurant is located inside the Conrad Hotel, but it is actually an independent area by the sea. You can walk to it from the beach or take the hotel's golf cart.
We only booked a table for 20:30 in the evening and walked across a wooden covered bridge to reach the restaurant. There is private seating in the woods, also by special reservation, and our table was near there.
For mains I had soft shell crab and my husband had some kind of grilled fish, neither of which was amazing but met expectations. For dessert, we ordered Black Velvet, which is said to be a specialty. Roses and liquid nitrogen are used to create the atmosphere. When the chocolate is cracked open, it is mixed with ice cream. It feels too sweet after a few bites. The final surprise was a box of their homemade banana chocolate, which I thought was better than that dessert.
They just happened to have an event today. Halfway through our meal, we saw a group of people walking to the beach entrance. The waiter said that fireworks were about to be set off and we could go watch them. So we ate at someone else's beach fireworks. We were complaining about how dark it was. I didn't catch up with the beach dinner and sunset, but the fireworks 🎆 made up for the atmosphere 😀

Punta de Mita!!
W Hotel's breakfast: French Toast, very soft and sweet, I also ordered a yogurt, very thick, paired with oatmeal and nuts.
At noon, we randomly found a restaurant to eat at in Punta de Mita. The view of the sea was unbeatable! However, many restaurants here face the sea, and the perfect weather makes everything beautiful.
In the evening, at the restaurant of St. Regis hotel, the hotel's swimming pool is amazing!
Under the starry sky, facing the sunset, listening to the waves, experiencing the ultimate feeling on the sandy beach by the bonfire.

A beautiful Pagoda in a little beach town on the Pacific Coast of Mexico. Our location allows us to use the freshest ingredients paired with traditional Japanese methods, and of course, a touch of our own unique brand creativity.
