Prasat Muang Tam, Buriram Province
Prasat Muang Tam is located in Ban Khok Mueang, Chorakhe Mak Subdistrict, Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province, approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Prasat Phanom Rung.
Prasat Muang Tam is a religious site based on Hindu beliefs. It is assumed to have been built as a dedication to the god Shiva. It served as a city or community religious site. Archaeological studies have revealed the settlements of large ancient communities in the area, such as Ban Khok Mueang, Khok Yai Khan, and Khok Salong Tong. Excavated artifacts include tools and everyday objects, such as earthenware pottery and numerous brown and green glazed bowls. These artifacts date from the second half of the 16th Buddhist century, approximately 1,000 years ago. The entrance fee is 20 baht, but if you visit both prasat, the fee is 30 baht. #Buriram #GetDiscountsWithoutRisk

Wat Pa Paiboon | Wat Pa Paiboon
I had the opportunity to visit Wat Pa Paiboon in Prakhon Chai District. This local forest temple offers a lush atmosphere, thanks to its garden. The atmosphere is peaceful and tranquil. The distinctive teakwood chapel, though small, is strikingly beautiful. Inside, a large and beautiful principal Buddha image is enshrined. The path leading up to the chapel is lined with Naga serpents, extending along the steps. This is truly stunning. The chapel is currently under construction, but visitors can still visit to pay respects and make wishes to the principal Buddha image.

Prasat Muang Tam, ancient Khmer civilization
When you arrive in Buriram Province, you must visit both stone castles. It is recommended to visit Prasat Muang Tam first and then go to Prasat Hin Phanom Rung.
- There is a parking lot, it is not difficult to find. After walking from the parking lot, cross the road and you will see a large sign that says Prasat Muang Tam.
- Prasat Muang Tam is a Hindu religious site. The entrance fee for Thais is 20 baht.
- The interesting thing about this place is that it is still unknown who built it. Therefore, its history is interesting. It is recommended to study or watch historical YouTube before visiting to enhance your trip.
- Personally, I like the 4 inner ponds, which are built symmetrically. It is amazing for the design in ancient times. There are fewer tourists than Prasat Hin Phanom Rung.

Muang Tam Stone Castle
Prasat Hin Muang Tam
It is a religious site built according to Hindu beliefs. It is assumed that it was built to dedicate to Lord Shiva.
It is around 1551-1630 B.E. or around the 16th-17th Buddhist century.
In terms of art here, it is Khmer art in the Bapuan style.
I can only say that I am amazed by the grandeur and beauty of the ancient Khmer stone castle.
There are barays or ponds around the castle, 5 peaks in all 4 directions.
It is a brick castle. The glass wall and the gate are made of sandstone. The outer wall is made of laterite.
Admission fee 20 baht.

Prasat Muang Tam, historical tourism, Buriram Province
Prasat Muang Tam is another place you shouldn't miss when visiting Buriram. I read about its history and found that this castle was built alongside Prasat Phanom Rung, but on a lower plain than Prasat Phanom Rung, so it's called "Prasat Muang Tam."
I visited here on a weekday and there weren't many people. It was quiet, lonely, and a bit desolate. It's also good to visit when there aren't many people. You can take pictures without people around.
The day I went was quite hot and the sun was strong. If you go, I recommend bringing an umbrella, a hat, and sunglasses.
Prasat Muang Tam, Buriram
Prasat Muang Tam is located in Ban Khok Muang, Tambon Chorakhe Mak, Amphoe Prakhon Chai, Buriram Province, approximately 8 kilometers southeast of Prasat Phanom Rung.
The castle and the village are located on a relatively round mound, approximately 1-2 meters higher than the rice field. The current location of the castle is Wat Prasat Buraparam to the east. To the north is a large reservoir or baray called Thale Muang Tam, approximately 510 meters wide and 1,090 meters long. The south and west are surrounded by houses of the people.
The important water sources of Ban Khok Muang are Thale Muang Tam and Lam Huai Pun, which is a tributary of Huai Prathia to the north, and Huai Nam Khun to the east, which are both sources of water for consumption.

⚒️ Prasat Muang Tam was built around the 16th-17th Buddhist century for use in Hindu religious ceremonies. 🗿 The highlight is the arrangement of the original Khmer architectural plan, with gopuras or gates in all four directions, surrounded by ponds and covered walkways. It is outstanding with intricate and historically valuable sandstone carvings. 🏺♎

🌋 Arokayasala..."Kuti Rishi Kok Mueang Ban Khok Mueang Ruin"🌋
🌋Kuti Rishi Ban Khok Mueang is a small stone castle located in Ban Khok Mueang (between Village No. 6, 9, 15), Chorakhe Mak Subdistrict, Prakhon Chai District, Buriram Province. It was built around the 16th-25th Buddhist century as an Arokayasala for those who came to perform ceremonies at Prasat Mueang Tam. Since it is not far from Prasat Mueang Tam, some people call it another name, Kuti Rishi Mueang Tam. This castle may have been renovated again around the 18th Buddhist century because some architectural works were found that did not match with other architectural works.

Buriram: Discover the Hidden Gems of Thailand's East, the "City of Happiness"
Located in northeastern Thailand, bordering Cambodia, Buriram Province is known as the "City of Happiness." This low-key and less-traveled destination holds hidden wonders waiting to be discovered.
As the "City of Stone Sanctuaries," Buriram is dotted with Khmer-style stone temples. Phanom Rung Historical Park, built on an extinct volcano in the 11th century, is the largest and best-preserved Khmer-style stone temple in Thailand. Every year during the spring and autumn equinoxes, the sunrise illuminates the main tower's doorway, creating a sacred and spectacular sight. Seven kilometers away, Prasat Muang Tam, built on a laterite base with sandstone upper structures, stands as a testament to a thousand years of history, exuding mystery and solemnity.
Buriram is also known as the "City of Sports." Buriram United Football Club is renowned…
Travel Guide to Aranyaprathet, Thailand
📍Typically, travelers enter Thailand through the Aranyaprathet border crossing from Poipet, Cambodia. Most people continue directly to Bangkok by bus, which is convenient if you purchase a through ticket from Siem Reap to Bangkok. A few people choose the slower train journey from Aranyaprathet to Bangkok.
📍I recommend traveling from Aranyaprathet to lesser-known destinations in eastern Thailand, such as Buriram or Nakhon Ratchasima (Korat). After crossing the border, I headed to the previously researched bus stop for Pattaya (there are direct buses from Aranyaprathet to Pattaya) and inquired about buses to Buriram. A young man on a motorbike led me to the bus station 1.8 km north of the border crossing and charged me 100 THB (a bit pricey). Arriving at the station at 9:50 am, I was pleasantly surprised to find a bus to Buriram via Nang Rong departing at 10:30 am! This bus station also has buses to Nakhon Ratchasima. Although I couldn't understand the language and didn't ask about the schedule, I suspect that these two relatively close provinces have frequent bus services to Aranyaprathet.
📍It took less than three hours to reach Nang Rong. Unlike minibuses, large buses can only stop at designated bus stations and not on demand.
📍Nang Rong's main attractions are Phanom Rung Historical Park and Muang Tam, sometimes referred to as "Little Angkor Wat." While they may not compare to the grandeur of Angkor, they are authentic ancient sites with fewer tourists and less commercialization, enhancing the overall experience. As both sites are about 30 km from Nang Rong, you'll need to hire a car or rent a motorbike. I rented a motorbike for 300 THB per day from P. California, where I stayed. Be cautious on the short stretch of mountain road and drive slowly.
📍Nang Rong itself is a laid-back and quiet town. The residential area feels like a small town in southern China, perhaps due to a significant Chinese community. The Nang Rong night market is fantastic, with diverse food stalls offering unique snacks. The satay, pork leg rice, and fried egg cakes (similar to dried tofu) are all incredibly delicious.
Came to Buriram to check in
1. Buriram is adjacent to the border between Thailand and Cambodia. As a territory of the Khmer Empire in the 12th century, there are many large and small Hindu temples scattered in Buriram. The three most famous ones may be Phanom Rung, Phimai and Muang Tam (the second one is a bit far away and is not strictly speaking considered as the Buriram area).
2. Unlike Ayutthaya and Sukhothai Historical Park, there are very few tourists here and the degree of commercialization is low, but the temple complex is well restored and maintained. A place well worth visiting.
3. There are many stone temples in Buriram Province that are similar to Angkor Wat. It is also very similar to the Phimai Stone Palace in Nakhon Ratchasima Province that we visited before. It is very close to the city and it is very convenient to take a taxi. There is a circle of sculptures surrounding the stone carvings, which is very eye-catching, and the architecture here is very beautiful.

Hotel de I'amour Buriram review
#Romantic accommodation #Buriram hotel
The other day I traveled to Buriram and went to Phanom Rung Historical Park, so I had the opportunity to stop by the hotel. It was worth it because the price was not expensive. When I stayed, it was around 1,600 baht, including breakfast. The hotel's name is Hotel de la Mour. The room was designed in a loft style but was very modern and beautiful. The bed was soft and comfortable. There was a large swimming pool here, so I could swim to my heart's content.
As for the breakfast, it was okay. It was delicious and quite good. It was worth the price. If I have the chance to come to Buriram again, I will definitely stay here again.

📞Hello Hello, I heard it and answered it.
Let's go back in time⏲️ to about a thousand years ago. See Prasat Muang Tam, a part of the Khmer civilization🇰🇭 to the northeast of Thailand🇹🇭
Prasat Muang Tam is located on the plains below Prasat Phanom Rung. It was built by royal craftsmen, contemporary with Prasat Phanom Rung, to offer to Lord Shiva, according to Hindu beliefs.
It is no less beautiful than any other stone castle in Thailand. When you come to see it, you will feel the greatness of the ancient civilization.

Prasat Muang Tam is a language not far from Prasat Khao Phanom Rung. We were going back home via Sa Kaeo, so we saw the sign for Prasat Muang Tam, so we stopped by to take a look.
The castle itself is quite grand. I think it is similar to Prasat Khao Phanom Rung, but it is not on a mountain. It is also close to the people's homes.
