Positano and Amalfi Coast, Italy
Positano, the famous vertical town part of the Amalfi Coast is a dream destination for many🌅 I loved it because it turned our beach vacation into an interesting trip! 💛
We got there by ferry boat and stayed there for the rest of the day. Unfortunately the costs of hotels and restaurants are high in this area so many tourists come and go in a one day trip☀️ Roads are usually very busy and ferry boats ride are much more convinient also to go visit the rest of the towns on the Amalfi Coast ⛴
Seen from the sea it looks spectacular with all the colourful houses. The narrow streets are filled with local artistic shops and excellent restaurants 🍝
I can't wait to go there again!

Picture perfect coastal town
Positano is one of the many coastal towns that dot the Amalfi Coast. It is easily accessible via bus and train from Naples and can be done in a day trip.
The town is perched on the hills that overlook the magnificent sea. As such even upon entering the town, you are greeted with the lovely turquoise color of the sea contrasted against the different colorful houses that line the cliffs. There's a beach at the bottom of the town and I can imagine it will get crowded during the summer months. Like mentioned before, the sea is in different shades of turquoise that change with the light. It's truly a sight you will never forget.
It's fun to stroll around the town and get lost in the winding streets leading down to the coast. There are also several restaurants but I found them to be quite catered to tourists, so nothing that is truly unforgettable as for dining here.
Nevertheless, a must visit if you're in Naples and can spare a day to visit this cute seaside town. I promise you won't regret it!

Positano is a cliffside village on southern Italy's Amalfi Coast. It's a well-known holiday destination with a pebble beachfront and steep, narrow streets lined with boutiques and cafes. Its Chiesa di Santa Maria Assunta features a majolica-tiled dome and a 13th-century Byzantine icon of the Virgin Mary. The Sentiero degli Dei hiking trail links Positano to other coastal towns. Spiaggia Grande is the heart of sea edge Positano. 300 meters long, the beach is one of the largest on the Amalfi Coast, and one of the most glamorous too, attracting a fashionable crowd of artists, actors and celebrities.
Those looking for a more peaceful spot in which to bask in the Mediterranean sun will love Positano's Fornillo beach, which can be reached via a coastal path commencing on the Spiaggia Grande. Legend has it that the three islets of Li Galli, just off the shores of Positano and often referred to as the "Sirenuse", were inhabited by Sirens who attempted to seduce with their song all those who sailed nearby.
Among those to have been enchanted by the islets' mysterious beauty, the ballet dancer Rudolf Nureyev, who spent the last years of his life here, is, perhaps, the most famous.

Le Sirenuse in Italy is Stunned the Mind😍❤️
#besthotels
The fierce face faces the sea, and there are unbeatable sea views in both the breasts, restaurant, and swimming pool. The movie "Under the Sun of Tonkana" was filmed at the hotel's highlights. The hotel boasts one of the top ten most beautiful attractions in the world, a red castle on the cliffs of the Afonso Coast, and an 18th century royal palace with a small terrace restaurant. The world's most romantic dinner spot is Le Sirenuse, a resort hotel on the Almafi Coast that opened in 1951 and has a total of 58 rooms. The hotel's biggest feature is the antique and flamboyant red palace architecture that fully showcases the charm of the retro old world. This uniquely styled hotel has transformed Tano from a little-known town into a world-renowned vacation destination.

Only Italy, which has a literary atmosphere, is scattered with many unique hotels. This jewel hidden sea view hotel gives people a sense of falling into the romantic world of painting. In 1990, Franco, who had lived abroad for many years, returned to Italy and, with the efforts of his entire family, designed and renovated the world-renowned new Le Sirenuse resort hotel. Ling Hotel review: Le Sirenuse, the English name for the sea view hotel? Location: Italy. Wave tower, hmm

Just beautiful. Amazing place. Outstanding. All the beautiful words deserved to be used. When you rent a car keep in mind small cars or mopeds are best option. Anything long or wide will cause troubles.
Absolutely fantastic drive! I recommend to go by scooter, this allowed us to pass some of the ques along the way. Positano is our favourite, so pretty.
Parking is hard to find always. But they exist. And are pricey usually. Always go beforehand your plan and find a cheaper parking and walk to the location. Otherwise amazing place.

Visiting Positano was like stepping into a postcard! This picturesque town on Italy’s Amalfi Coast dazzled with its colorful cliffside buildings and stunning coastal views. Wandering through the narrow, winding streets, I discovered charming boutiques and cozy cafés. The beach area, though small, is perfect for soaking up the sun ☀️. The entrance to the nearby Church of Santa Maria Assunta was free, and it’s definitely worth a visit for its beautiful interior and famous dome. Dining with a view at a local restaurant was a highlight. Positano is truly enchanting! #trip #PositanoViews #AmalfiCoast #ItalianEscape #ScenicBeauty #TravelDreams

Positano was magical 🇮🇹

Positano, Italy, is everything you imagine when you think of a dreamy Italian coastal getaway! 🏖️ This cliffside village on the Amalfi Coast is unbelievably picturesque, with colorful houses stacked one above the other, tumbling down towards the sparkling blue Tyrrhenian Sea. I spent my days here wandering through narrow, winding streets filled with charming boutiques selling handmade sandals, linen clothes, and, of course, the famous Limoncello. 🍋 The scent of lemon trees and fresh sea air was everywhere – it’s impossible not to feel relaxed!
The highlight of my trip was lounging on Spiaggia Grande, the main beach, where you can rent a sunbed for around €20. The views from the beach are iconic, with the pastel-colored houses rising up behind you. 🏠 I took a boat tour along the coast, which was an incredible way to see Positano from the water and discover hidden caves and coves. If you’re up for a bit of exercise, hiking the Sentiero degli Dei (Path of the Gods) offers breathtaking views of the coastline. 🌄
Dining in Positano was another treat – I had the best seafood pasta at a cliffside restaurant with a view that was worth every penny. 🍝 For dessert, I indulged in a slice of Torta Caprese, a local almond and chocolate cake. As the sun set, Positano turned into a magical scene with twinkling lights. ✨ This town is the epitome of la dolce vita! #trip #Positano #AmalfiCoast #ItalianParadise #LimoncelloLove #CoastalChic

A cliff retreat
#europetrip
Positano looks stunning as you arrive closer to it. I was on a public ferry from Salerno after a couple of nights there. And I remember seeing this gorgeous retreat like town on the cliff of mediterranean, surrounded by stunning views.
The weather was absolutely perfect. Albeit, a bit hot though. But your room is most likely going to have an air conditioning if that helps. This was the month of May and that did mean a considerable amount of tourists. Which is why I recommend booking well ahead of travelling here. Speaking of hot, I was slightly exhausted so on my day u arrived I stayed indoors snacking and grabbing a drink at the hotels bar.
In the evening I found a nice place to eat and befriended some travellers from Germany. That helped plan the next day where we shared a taxi to Ravello. Which offered some gorgeous gardens, architecture and shopping. Our taxi tour included a stop at the blue grotto. A tip here, you want to avoid those stops that friendly locals would recommend. It's a tourist set up.
Any who, Ravello was fantastic. However pricey, I think the drive is somewhat challenging so it worth having a reliable and safe ride. In the night when we were back at Postiano, we picked one of the many restaurants by the sea front and the food was very satisfying.

How amazing is Lemon Town
🏖️ Among the many coastlines in Italy, the Amalfi Coast is considered the most beautiful. Located on the southern side of the Sorrento Peninsula in southern Italy, it stretches from Salerno to Positano, encompassing 14 seaside towns. In 1997, the Amalfi Coast was listed as a UNESCO World Heritage Site as a cultural landscape and was rated by the BBC as a 'must-visit place in life';
🏖️ One of the top 10 most beautiful spots in the world, it is hailed as 'paradise on earth' along with the Greek islands. The sunset light permeates the entire sea, with waves and sails, houses scattered like stars shrouded in mist, and people and vehicles passing by on the cliff paths, creating a peaceful and serene atmosphere.
🚍 In terms of public transportation, from Naples Central Station, you can take the Circumvesuviana train to Sorrento, with a one-way ticket costing 4.6 euros. After getting off at Sorrento Station, you can buy a bus ticket to Positano for 2.4 euros (one way), with a journey time of about half an hour. It is recommended to choose a seat on the right side of the bus for better views.
❣️ A few TIPS:
💛 You can choose to stay in Naples and take day trips to surrounding cities. It is recommended to buy round-trip train tickets in advance in Naples.
💛 If you are not staying in Positano, remember to buy round-trip bus tickets directly in Sorrento. During the peak season, the town is small and tickets often sell out, delaying your return trip.
💛 You can also buy a direct bus ticket to Amalfi with SITA BUS and tour counterclockwise. First to Amalfi (about 1 hour by bus), then back to Positano, and finally return to Sorrento.
💛 The winding mountain roads offer picturesque scenery, but remember to prepare motion sickness medicine in advance.
💛 Besides taking the bus, you can also choose to travel by boat during the peak season for a better experience.
🍋 Recommended spots in Positano:
🟡 Bus stop (via Cristoforo Colombo 175): This is the most photogenic spot on Instagram, and a filming location for the movie 'Under the Tuscan Sun.' Standing under the flower hedge full of bougainvillea, you can look out over the Mediterranean Sea, admire the steep terrain, and see the rainbow-like houses built on the mountainside, with the sea breeze blowing, creating a myriad of charms that remain unchanged for thousands of years.
🟡 Spiaggia Grande: Known as the most beautiful beach in Europe, it is located in the bay's recess, surrounded by colorful houses, making it very pleasing to the eye.
🟡 Church of Santa Maria Assunta: The iconic building in the town, with its exterior walls painted in creamy yellow and its striking colorful ceramic dome, making it the most eye-catching building in the town.
🍋 In summer, lemon trees can be seen everywhere in the town. In winter, there are fewer lemons, and most shops are closed. However, this also allows you to enjoy an undisturbed exclusive experience.

Beach (Music on the Rocks) Experience
Then we went down to the beach. Search google map for 'Beach (Music on the Rocks)'. The distinctive feature of this place is the mountainous backdrop surrounded by houses and brightly colored umbrellas.
Tips: The use of beach chairs here is different from Karamari beach in Santorini because if we want to sit on a beach chair here, we have to pay an entrance fee, which is quite steep. It's tough to accept the charge, but that doesn't mean we can't take pictures of the colorful umbrellas (blue and orange) with the mountains in the background. Just keep walking towards Music on the Rocks, and you'll find a small path where you can capture this view.
