Spot the 🐉 in the pink lake!

Lake Bumbunga is about a 90min drive from Adelaide city and is a treat for the eyes!
Best to visit after a few days of rain to increase the pinkness of the lake’s appearance. The salt gives it its colour and it is quite fascinating to observe the crystal formations. We took a taste of the salt before noticing the sign that told us not to 😅
This attraction is free and if you are in luck, you can walk right up to the resident monster for a close up selfie!
The roads leading to Lake Bumbunga can be quite deserted and makes for a good picture opportunity. (Always stay alert for cars though.) We spotted some grapes on the vine and stopped by to take a closer look too (as it is not a normal sight for equator bound peeps).
There is a tiny house establishment by the lake too if one is interested to spend the night by this picturesque place. Just Google ‘pink lake tiny house’ 🤩

Magical Birdlife Silhouettes
In summer months, thousands of migratory shorebirds gather across the mudflats—their silhouettes often visible in the fading light. This makes for a captivating natural scene at dusk .
