Kiyomizu-dera Autumn Leaves!! Travel while you can-!!
🍂 Travelogue of Kiyomizu-dera in Kyoto
One of the must-visit places during a trip to Kyoto is Kiyomizu-dera. True to its name, which means 'Temple of Pure Water,' this place has long been cherished as a space for making wishes and purifying the heart.
The path to Kiyomizu-dera early in the morning led through a serene alleyway. As I walked up the stone-paved road, I was surrounded by people dressed in elegant kimonos and tourists, creating a feeling as if I had traveled back in time.
Finally, the main hall of Kiyomizu-dera unfolded before my eyes. A massive stage supported by wooden pillars stood on a cliff, with an endless expanse of lush forest below. In the past, the phrase 'jumping off the stage of Kiyomizu-dera' symbolized making a firm resolution, and the scenery was indeed majestic and overwhelming.
Following the path next to the main hall, I arrived at the Otowa Waterfall. The water, divided into three streams, symbolizes wishes for longevity, academic success, and love fulfillment. The earnest expressions of people using long ladles to drink the water reflected their deep desires. I, too, took a sip and quietly made a wish in my heart.
As I strolled through the temple grounds, I came across small Buddha statues, amulet shops, and tranquil tea houses. Visiting Kiyomizu-dera in autumn, the temple was beautifully adorned with crimson leaves, resembling a painting. I heard that in spring, it is surrounded by cherry blossoms, and in winter, it offers a snowy landscape, each season showcasing a unique charm.
On the way down from Kiyomizu-dera, I walked through the streets of Sannenzaka and Ninenzaka, lined with souvenir shops. Kyoto's traditional sweets, matcha ice cream, and charming ceramics added to the joy of the trip.

✨ Reflections on the Journey
Kiyomizu-dera is not just a tourist destination but a place to let go of burdens and reflect on oneself. The serene temple scenery combined with the nostalgic atmosphere of Kyoto's old streets provided a brief escape from daily life, leaving a deep impression.
If I ever visit Kyoto again, I would love to see Kiyomizu-dera in another season. 🌸🍁❄️
If you don't travel when you can,
there might not be a next time~~
Just as autumn leaves have their season
and can't be seen anytime,
travel also has its moments.
You can't always go just because you want to,
so I hope you travel
when you have the chance~^^
