#TokyoTravel #TokyoTravel #Tokyo #Asakusa #Asakusa Food #Asakusa Temple #Imado Shrine #Tokyo Tower #Zōjoji Temple
Because I don’t like crowds, I got up early to take photos around Tokyo Tower, and then went to Asakusa. After that, I walked along the Sumida River, admiring the Tokyo Skytree and the Asahi Beer Cloud, and walked to Imado Shrine. I will take a lot of subways today. , so there is a one-day subway ticket.
Tokyo Tower is the most representative landmark in Tokyo. If you don’t want to go up to the top of Tokyo Tower, you can take photos around it and Tokyo Tower. It is recommended that if you want to take a good photo and don’t want to be crowded, you can go out early and take the subway station Akabanebashi Station. Then the photo tour started.
1. The first point is when you come out of the Akabanebashi Exit of the Subway Akabanebashi Station, you will see the Tokyo Tower at the intersection, and you can also take photos with the road signs.
2. The second point is the Tokyo Tower underground parking lot. I arrived at about 8 o'clock and there was only one group of people taking pictures in front of it. We even helped each other take pictures.
3. The third point is Zojoji Temple. You can take photos of Zojoji Temple and Tokyo Tower together.
Next, I arrived in Asakusa at about nine o'clock, and took the subway to Asakusa Station. I didn't expect that there were so many people there just after nine o'clock. Everyone took pictures in front of Asakusa Kaminarimon Gate. After taking pictures, they started to walk into the shopping street, with many shops on both sides. They sell food, and I ate Asakusa croquettes, dango, and Kagetsudo porridge bread. After passing through the shopping street, you will arrive at Sensoji Temple. You can also invest JPY100 to draw a lottery. I am so happy when I get lucky. It is said that Sensoji Temple's lottery is very effective. 30% are serious disasters😅.
You can go to the Asakusa Culture and Tourism Center opposite, go up to the eighth floor and you can see the Skytree. Go down the stairs next to the outdoors and look in the direction of Sensoji Temple, and you will see a super spectacular person.
「FUGLEN ASAKUSA」
This is a Norwegian coffee shop. Because I arrived in Asakusa too early, many of the shops I wanted to eat in were not open yet. I am also used to drinking a cup of coffee after getting up, so I came here to sit and order a cup of daily coffee.
"Asakusa Croquette"
The croquette is made of Kanagawa's 100-selected specialty Takazata dolphin, mixed with Kuroge Wagyu beef. The outer layer is crispy, and there are onions inside that I hate. But I still finished it in silence because it is really delicious. It is very juicy, so be careful as it burns your mouth. , but eating while walking is prohibited. There is a small indoor space next to it for guests to eat.
"Kagetsudo Pork Bread"
It is also one of the must-eat foods in Asakusa for many people. I ordered an original pineapple bread and took it with me after taking one bite. The bread is super big and the outer layer is covered with granulated sugar. It has a warm texture and can be eaten in one bite. The outer layer is very crispy and the inner layer is soft. After being stored for a long time, the bread will not taste so good. As expected, delicious food still has to be eaten on the spot.
「Asakusa Soratsuki」
It is a cute dumpling, quite soft and non-sticky to the teeth. The filling contains mango, strawberry and matcha. It tastes colorless and looks cute when taking photos.
"Eighty Eight Good Leaves House Asakusa"
Located next to Sumida Park in Asakusa, I can’t miss it if I’m a matcha lover! ! When I order a matcha latte, a clerk will brush the matcha on the spot and slowly pour it into the milk. Does it taste okay? After all, I prefer strong matcha.
"Imado Shrine"
It is a shrine that combines lucky cats and love. It is said to be the birthplace of lucky cats. It is full of lucky cats and there is a real white cat inside. It is really comfortable to see the cat lying there lazily.
It is recommended that if you are in Asakusa and are not in a hurry, you can walk here. There are fewer tourists here and it is quieter.

Iconic Temple in Tokyo City
#tokyo
It is a beautiful shrine located near the Tokyo tower. Peaceful and quiet, you can't believe it is in the middle of a city. This is the perfect spot to take a really nice picture of Tokyo tower. Not very crowded. Restrooms available in the park and wheelchair accessible. I am able to view the Evening service as well which started around 5 pm.
Love this temple, everytime I go back to Tokyo I make sure I visit. I love it because it is right in the city. If you are looking for a very quiet and nice temple to visit with a view, this is the temple to visit!

The Zojo-ji temple
#cherryblossom2024
As we ventured further into the heart of Asakusa Hanayashiki, we found ourselves surrounded by breathtaking scenery. The serene sanctuary was nestled amidst towering trees and blooming flowers, creating a natural oasis in the midst of the bustling city. The vibrant hues of green and the vibrant colors of the flowers painted a mesmerizing picture, one that we couldn't tear our eyes away from.
Zojo-ji, the esteemed sanctuary of the Buddhist Jodo sect, graces the Kanto region with its divine presence. Its origins trace back to the year 1393, when it was first erected, and later relocated to its current hallowed grounds in 1598. In the splendid 17th century, this sacred site boasted an impressive array of 48 temples, each radiating spiritual serenity.
Throughout the annals of time, the main hall of Zojo-ji has endured the ravages of fire on three separate occasions, only to be resurrected each time with unwavering determination. The current resplendent structure, a testament to architectural brilliance, was meticulously reconstructed in the 1970s, breathing new life into this venerable sanctuary.
Amongst the myriad treasures held within Zojo-ji, the Sangedatsumon main gate reigns supreme as a beacon of historical significance. Dating back to the year 1605, this majestic wooden edifice stands as a testament to Tokyo's ancient heritage, proudly claiming the title of the oldest wooden structure in the city. Divided into three sections, this gate symbolizes the three sacred stages one must traverse to attain nirvana, a profound journey of spiritual enlightenment.
Nestled within the sacred grounds of Zojo-ji lies a mausoleum, a solemn resting place for six Tokugawa shoguns. Within its hallowed walls, the spirits of these revered leaders find eternal repose, their legacy forever intertwined with the sanctity of this revered sanctuary. As one wanders through the ethereal landscape of Zojo-ji, a cemetery reveals itself, adorned with row upon row of diminutive statues. These statues, guardians of the unborn, bear witness to the sorrowful plight of stillborn, aborted, and miscarried babies. Among them, Jizo, the compassionate deity, stands tall, offering solace and protection to these innocent souls, forever etching their memory into the sacred fabric of this divine sanctuary.
I can sense that this luxurious and enchanting retreat holds a special place in your heart. The joy of returning and cherishing each moment in this unique sanctuary must be truly magical.

Blooming in Serenity
#cherryblossom2024
In Tokyo for a short stay but looking for a temple alternative that's not so crowded but equally impressive as Senso-ji? Zojo-ji is the perfect place. We visited on a Sunday and it was such a pleasant experience unlike Senso-ji which was packed to the rafters. Zojo-ji has much more Sakuras in the temple grounds than Senso-ji, and most were blooming on our March 31st visit!. With dolls all lined up alongside the Sakuras, and Tokyo tower in the background, its simply art. 🌸🌸🌸

The annual limited Million Candle Night by Tokyo Tower
6.21, this year's summer solstice, happened to be in Tokyo, so I went to this 'Million Candle Night,' which is said to be a once-a-year limited event, intended to pray for the souls of those who have passed away due to natural disasters (earthquakes, tsunamis, etc.) over the years.
The location is at Zojoji Temple, very close to Tokyo Tower.
I went there around 16:30, and during the day, you could see from the entrance of the temple, a row of white candles extending to the steps, all the way to the main stage. After dark, the candles were lit, and the scene was spectacular.
Moreover, to support this event, at 20:00, Tokyo Tower would even turn off its lights for a while, leaving only the candles glowing. Unfortunately, I went to have dinner at that time and missed the moment when the lights were turned off.
Speaking of Zojoji Temple itself, it's quite nice to visit during the day, with a genuine exhibition of the temple, a row of windmill Jizo statues for praying for children, and even the graveyard of the Tokugawa family.
The key is that I didn't expect to find such a temple so close to Tokyo Tower, and after watching the event at night, you can directly walk to the base of Tokyo Tower, which is very comfortable.

Prime Spot to View Tokyo Tower and Cherry Blossoms
📍Shiba Park, Zojoji Temple
Nestled in the Minato ward, with the iconic Tokyo Tower standing tall in its vicinity, Zojoji Temple is a renowned sanctuary of tranquility. This historic site, dating back 600 years, is also the final resting place of six shoguns from the Tokugawa family.
On a day when the weeping cherry blossoms were in their eighth bloom, I found myself in this place of profound charm. As it was a weekday, the crowd was sparse, making the experience even more serene. The sight of the blossoms, at their near peak, was breathtaking, and I can only imagine the spectacle they would present in full bloom or when they begin to fall.
Within the temple grounds, the weeping cherry trees and Somei Yoshino cherry trees create a stunning spectacle. The Shiba Park surrounding the temple also boasts Somei Yoshino cherry trees, offering a delightful collaboration of Tokyo Tower and cherry blossoms for an extended period.
Incredibly, the temple grounds are home to nearly 200 cherry trees of various types! It's truly a sight to behold. The best time to visit is typically from late March to early April.
🌸Types of Cherry Blossoms: Somei Yoshino, Weeping Cherry, Edohiganzakura, Yuten Cherry, Koshihigan, etc.

🇯🇵 Jingshu Temple 🇯🇵
Jingshu Temple, located on the way to Shiba Park, is a temple that is easy to stop by on your way to and from!
Admission is free, and it is said to have been the largest temple in Edo during the Edo period, so it is worth visiting historically!
The large group of young monks was also fun to see,
and the view of Tokyo Tower seen together with the temple was also
very pretty! I also recommend it to those who want to capture the tower in various frames!

The temples in Kyoto, Japan, have won most of the tourists' interest in Japanese temples. The temples in Tokyo do not seem to be the focus of everyone's travel.
However, this is a temple, but you can arrange a visit. There are several points to watch in the
Zengshang Temple. The first is the solemn and lacquered three untie doors at the entrance.
Three relief, which means that you can get rid of the three poisons "greed, jealousy, and idiot" that the Buddha said.
This door is one of the most famous buildings in Tokyo. It is listed as an important national cultural heritage of Japan and is the largest gate in East Japan. Its beauty has shocked every visitor. The second point is the red and white Tokyo Tower behind the hall. The modern and beautiful tower echoes the temple building, making it unforgettable.
Maple.
Zengshang Temple is located under the Tokyo Tower. In the heart of the bustling and bustling city of Tokyo, there is such a quiet temple that is really hidden in the city. Zengshang Temple is also one of the temples of the Tokugawa family of the Edo shogunate.
Zengshang Temple has been in existence for hundreds of years, but the temple in the temple has been destroyed several times. The hall that can be seen now was actually rebuilt in 1974.
When we arrived at Zengshang Temple, we just met the Tokyo Marathon. The organizer temporarily sealed the road in front of Zengshang Temple as the track. The police car of the police station opened the way, and thousands of entries from all over the world. The people ran across the road, and the people along the road were all watching the citizens of Tokyo.
This East Malaysia is a cosplay conference. You see, there is a running Donald Duck in front of the Tokyo Tower.
ZIMO.
The New Years Eve tour was added to the temple, and the first bell of the New Year was heard in the countdown. The ceremony was full. In addition to the old welcome, every character silently made a wish in the bell.
Japanese people used to go to the temple to pray in the morning of the night of the 12.31 or the 1st of the 1st, please guard, write the horse, and eat snacks. Seeing that some young people are smashing the smoke in the incense burner, it is said that this will become smart, so give it a try!
Zengshang Temple has a lot of tourists because of the tower blessing. Perhaps it is to reduce the crowds. In the New Year, only the bells and the balloons are released. The Tokyo Tower at 12 o'clock in the middle of the night is also very special. After all, it is bright all the time.
