When driving on the highway, it's important to take a proper rest, so I chose this place as a resting spot. After filling up on a bowl of Komagane sauce katsudon (sorry, no photos), I was able to relax and enjoy the view of nearby Lake Suwa and its surroundings. Please do visit this SA on the Chuo Expressway!

On my way to Gifu, I stopped off at this Lake Suwa Service Area. I happened to take a break there, and was blown away by the panoramic view of Lake Suwa. Looking out from the terrace, Lake Suwa stretched out at about 160 degrees. It was a sunny day, so the sky was a beautiful blue and the lake was a beautiful sight. Mountains, lake, and sky. I was able to burn a lot of nature into my memory. Inside the service area, there were souvenirs lined up, including Nagano Prefecture specialties. This service area is located in a place where you can overlook Lake Suwa in Nagano Prefecture. The service area is well-equipped with a food court and a souvenir corner. You can enjoy Nagano's specialties, as well as bread and coffee. The souvenir shop offers a wide variety of items, including Shine Muscat sweets. The food court is designed to offer a good view of Lake Suwa. There is also an onsen facility, which seems great for relieving driving fatigue. There are many private toilet stalls, so it wasn't too crowded and was quite convenient.
