Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon
Location: Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie, Hunan, China
Entrance fee: 128¥ (canyon + glass sky walk)
Date: July 21, 2022
The nature was so stunning in Grand Canyon. At the end of the Glass Bridge there’s a rock climbing place, I could climb only half of it (but for the first time, it was a good result, I’m very happy for that).
After passing the bridge we took an elevator, it was 30¥. Then slide way - 30¥ and a boat - 20¥. This helped us save more time, instead of using 1.5-2hours on the stairs, we passed it in just half an hour. After that we walked along the canyon and just admired the view.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon.
The Grand Canyon is a place that you can’t miss if you are in the city of Zhangjiajie. This place is surrounded with so much nature and fresh air that will make you feel recharged.
It is not an easy hiking so it is not recommended for people with weak knees. Make sure you bring comfortable shoes and some water, this site requires long walking around (2 to 3 hours). In case of getting exhausted is possible to find some places to sit down.
The water has such a beautiful greenish shade, I though the pics about this place were photoshopped but in person you will see those true beautiful colours.

Zhangjiajie - Grand Canyon
I booked my tickets to the Grand Canyon and glass bridge a day in advance. I used a travel agent on Wechat and the combined ticket cost 219rmb. I arrived at around 8.45am and the site was already starting to get busy. It opens at 8am and I would suggest arriving as early as possible!
I started with the glass bridge, it was brilliant to walk over and fantastic for photo opportunities. On a sunny day however it’s extremely hot and I recommend sun glasses. After the glass bridge I zip lined down (50rmb) and got a slide (50rmb) the rest of the way to the bottom of the mountain. It was incredible fun and worth every penny! I then took a small boat journey (20rmb) to the walking trial through the Grand Canyon. This was very scenic and peaceful. I passed waterfalls, forests and a cave. You are then put onto another boat that takes you to the exit.
The visit was exciting and definitely something you should do if ever in Zhangjiajie. I’ve attached a price list of other optional activities you can do such as bungee jumping. With taxis it can be an expensive day out, but one to remember.

It takes three or five days to visit Zhangjiajie. The scenery is divided into Tianmen Mountain Scenic Area and Wulingyuan Scenic Area. In addition, the surrounding scenic spots can even be played for a week without a heavy sample. The core scenic spot also takes at least three days.
Wu Lingyuan's Yuan Jiajie is the inspiration for the movie "Avatar" and the most classic scenic spot. It is a must-go stop in Zhangjiajie. When the weather is fine, the mountains are rolling, and the ground rises, it is amazing. When there is a cloud, the clouds are haunting, just like a fairyland.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, where every visitor counts!!
Immerse yourself in the natural beauty of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon🌈❤️
Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon! The natural scenery is stunning
Compared to Tianmen Mountain and Wulingyuan
The scenery of the Grand Canyon is equally breathtaking
Here, you can enjoy the view of the graceful peaks
The quiet canyons, and the clear streams and lakes
🎫About tickets:
1. Follow: Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Tourism Development Co., Ltd.
2. Choose your preferred route: Route A, Route B, Route B1
Route A is relatively gentle, suitable for those who like walking
Route B and B1 are more thrilling, suitable for those who enjoy challenges
🚘About transportation:
Tianmen Mountain-Grand Canyon|Go to Zhangjiajie Bus Station to buy a ticket, 22 yuan/person, 1-hour drive
Wulingyuan-Grand Canyon|Go to Wulingyuan Bus Station to buy a ticket, 12 yuan/person, 30 kilometers
🏞️About the scenic area
The glass bridge is the most worth-seeing spot in the Grand Canyon
The main span is 430m, and it is 300m above the valley floor
Both in terms of length and height, it is the world's first
Seeing that there are also brave tourists bungee jumping
Before getting on the bridge, tickets are checked and anti-slip shoe covers are distributed
There are quite a few people on the bridge, and taking photos is a bit affected by the crowd
I bought a 'pick 7 out of 5' package ticket
You can choose to watch VR here
It's like riding a hot air balloon to experience the scenery of the Grand Canyon
It's just that the picture quality is a bit blurry
Next, you can choose the high-altitude zip line➕One Line Sky Slide
Or take the elevator down the mountain
If you're not extremely afraid of heights or physically unfit
It is recommended to choose the zip line➕slide down the mountain
The zip line🚡 gives you the feeling of gliding through the air, which is fun
The speed is quite fast, it takes half a minute to reach the opposite side
After that, continue to play the One Line Sky Slide
You'll get a cushion for your butt and gloves🧤 to prevent abrasion
This experience is not good, the glass is not smooth
You have to propel yourself, and it feels like a sore back and uncomfortable
After coming down, you'll arrive at Rainbow Wharf Square
Then take a boat, walk through the canyon, and take another boat
Then you leave the scenic area and arrive back at the main entrance
Note❗If you disembark, you can only walk out of the scenic area
The whole journey is over 4 kilometers of mountain road, taking more than an hour to walk
⚠️Warm tips:
1. It is recommended to wear anti-slip shoes, as there are many wet sections in the canyon.
2. There are few places selling things in the scenic area, mostly barbecue and burger-type food, it is advised to prepare your own dry food and water in advance
3. If the Grand Canyon is your last stop, you can take your luggage with you, as there are luggage storage points in the scenic area
Operating hours: 07:30-17:00
🔴To summarize
1. Route B is all downhill, you have to walk a distance from the mountain top to enter and exit
Route B1 is downhill then uphill, enter and exit at the same place
If you want to experience more activities and have ample time, you can take Route B
If you want a quick tour and save energy, you can take Route B1
2. Just buy the glass bridge➕'pick 7 out of 5' package ticket
3. The high-altitude zip line has a weight restriction of below 80 jin (40 kg) and above 160 jin (80 kg)
4. There are very few places selling things inside, it is recommended to bring your own water and snacks

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon Route B Guide!! Great for photography and easy to get good shots
It's my second time taking Route B. The early part of the scenery/projects has changed a lot, while the latter part will be relatively monotonous.
1️⃣ Duration of Route B:
3.5 hours
(I started at 3 pm and came out by boat at 6:30 pm, taking longer because I stopped to take photos and enjoy the sights)
2️⃣ Tips for visiting:
We bought the Route B ticket + Glass Bridge for 178 RMB, with additional costs for the zip line at 50 RMB, slide at 50 RMB, and Rainbow Boat at 20 RMB.
3️⃣ Tour route:
Visitor Center 👉 Glass Bridge 👉 Enjoy VR 👉 Zip line/Elevator 👉 One-Line-Sky Slide 👉 Shenquan Lake Rainbow Boat/Walking 👉 Touch Cave 👉 Free boat ride out
(After the slide, there's about a 4 km walk, where you can take photos and enjoy the walk as long as you ensure safety)
4️⃣ Round-trip transportation:
The first time I bought a round-trip bus ticket 🎫 at Zhangjiajie Bus Station.
The second time I drove myself, parked at the parking lot at the entrance of the scenic area, and paid 20 RMB when I left at 7 pm. Then I took a bus from the entrance of the scenic area to go up the mountain to walk the Glass Bridge.
5️⃣ Warm tips:
The first time I went was in late May, and this time in early April. There was a light drizzle in the Grand Canyon, and the second half of Route B was a bit slippery, so be careful where you step.

A dizzying experience!
If you are in Zhangjiajie you have to visit the Grand Canyon, about an hour away by car. You can do many activities such as walking on the glass bridge, bungee jumping, ziplining, experience with VR glasses, hiking, etc.#glassbridge

㊙️㊙️ Currently, there are three ways to travel in Zhangjiajie: small group travel, individual travel, and self-driving.
🔵 Small Package Tour: For those who are new to Zhangjiajie, it is actually friendly to apply for a package tour. All food, accommodation, and transportation are prepared, so you don't have to worry about luggage. The core cost is also cheap. The downside of a small package tour is that there are few people. The master is the guide.
🔵 Independent Travel: You have to take care of food, accommodation, transportation, travel, shopping, and entertainment on your own during the trip, which can be more tiring, but you can do whatever you want.
🔵 Self-driving Tour: Transportation is more convenient and you can do whatever you want, but it can be quite tiring and difficult to find parking spaces.

Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon A-line Strategy, a stunning treasure~
The natural scenery of Zhangjiajie is very charming. In addition to visiting Tianmen Mountain and the Forest Park when traveling to Zhangjiajie, you definitely should not miss the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon. Even the locals say it's worth it ~
Although the A-line of the Grand Canyon is now a free route, the scenery along the way is really amazing~
To get to the Grand Canyon from Zhangjiajie city, you can choose to take a direct bus to the Grand Canyon at the bus station, which costs 22 yuan per person and takes about an hour and a half to reach the Grand Canyon Tourist Service Center. There are free buses here that go directly to the top of the mountain.
Starting from the top of the mountain, the path is all stairs leading into the canyon. The first scenic spot that catches your eye is the 'One-Line-Sky', where the natural scenery is very beautiful, and you can see the contrasting light and dark mountain landscapes~
The descent to the bottom of the canyon is all stairs, and as you walk, you may start to feel a bit weak in the legs. However, the scenery on the opposite mountain is really beautiful, and even I, who am afraid of heights, have overcome it to enjoy the view!
It takes about ten minutes to walk down the stairs, and if you want to enjoy the thrill of speed, you can also take the slide.
The water of Rainbow Lake is really very blue, and it was my first time seeing such blue water, I couldn't help but scream!! The lake water, the boats, and the mountain waterfalls cascading down, it's like a landscape painting on paper coming to life right before your eyes. The beauty is visible to the naked eye, and the camera can't fully capture it! Taking photos by the lake is very photogenic, and the perfect angle is right in front of the waterfall, with the waterfall, lake water, and the passing boats intertwined together, it's really very artistic
Continuing forward, deeper into the canyon, the landscape along the way is beautiful, with sheer rock faces. Walking on the road, you can clearly hear the crisp sound of running water, the chirping of birds, and the rustling sound of the wind blowing through your hair. Breathing in the fresh air and looking at the natural beauty is really enjoyable~
The path in the canyon is very gentle. Being in the canyon and strolling along the stream, you feel the charm of nature. The long and narrow canyon has different scenery on both sides. Walking in different places gives you different feelings.
The most surprising thing for me was encountering a wooden boat in the lake. The boat was moored in the water, filled with water inside, and the sunlight reflected off the water's surface, making it shimmer. The wooden boat gently swayed in the water, accompanied by the shadows of trees and the reflection of the mountains, which was especially poetic~
We left around four o'clock in the afternoon, and you can reach the shore by taking the free boat on Shenquan Lake. The boat moves slowly on the lake, the sunlight glitters on the emerald water, the mountains on both sides are lush and steep, warm patches of light fall on your hands, and in the process of enjoying with closed eyes, the moment you reach the shore, there is a sense of destiny like 'the light boat has already passed through thousands of mountains'
Touring the canyon is both comfortable and pleasant, purely enjoying the scenery of the canyon, and an immersive experience of outdoor activities. The valley echoes, returning to nature, searching for that peace in your heart. Outdoor travel + a relaxed travel experience, very suitable for someone like me who is an INFP. I really love the scenery of Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon A-line

ZhangJiaJie - City of Heaven
In Zhangjiajie, my adventure took an unexpected turn as dense fog draped the landscape, shrouding the towering peaks and mystical forests in an ethereal veil. The absence of the sun lent an air of mystery to the surroundings, transforming the experience into a journey through a surreal dreamscape.
As I ascended Tianmen Mountain via the cable car, the fog played tricks on perception, creating an otherworldly atmosphere. The glass skywalk, normally revealing dizzying depths, now seemed to disappear into the mist, heightening the sense of adventure and discovery.
Exploring Zhangjiajie National Forest Park under the cloak of fog added an enigmatic charm to the iconic quartz-sandstone pillars. The pillars emerged like ancient sentinels from the mist, their silhouettes evoking a sense of timelessness. The Hallelujah Mountain, obscured yet majestic, seemed to float in a sea of clouds, creating an almost spiritual ambiance.
Navigating the Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, the fog added an extra layer of challenge and allure. The glass bridge, now softened by the mist, transformed into a path suspended in the clouds, making each step a blend of excitement and trepidation. The snow on the mountain roads, while posing obstacles, added a pristine beauty to the rugged terrain.
Embracing the unexpected weather, I found solace in the serenity of the fog-laden landscapes. The absence of direct sunlight allowed me to appreciate the subtleties of Zhangjiajie's beauty, revealing a different side of its charm. The snow-dusted roads, though challenging, added a touch of winter magic to the journey.
As I descended from the misty heights of Zhangjiajie, the memories of a fog-kissed adventure lingered. The absence of the sun had transformed the landscapes into a poetic canvas, where nature's elements collaborated to create an experience both challenging and enchanting, leaving an indelible mark on my journey through this mesmerizing destination.#Zhangjiajie

As soon as I stepped into this mysterious land, I was deeply attracted by the towering mountains, winding paths, and lush forests. Every scene in Zhangjiajie is like a work of art carefully carved by nature, making people marvel at the greatness of the creator.

Friends who are preparing to go to Zhangjiajie, please look here
Travelers who are preparing to go to Zhangjiajie, please take 5 minutes to read this guide on how to travel independently in Zhangjiajie, and how to spend 5 days and 4 nights there, for reference.
Must-visit attractions in Zhangjiajie: Forest Park, Tianmen Mountain, Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon, Zhangjiajie Glass Bridge, Phoenix Ancient City!
~~~Without further ado, let me share my itinerary for 5 days and 4 nights in Zhangjiajie!
Here is my detailed itinerary for 5 days and 4 nights in Zhangjiajie:
Day 1: Arrive in Zhangjiajie—Check into the hotel (it's quite late, so stay near the train station)
Day 2: 5A-level scenic spot Tianmen Mountain National Forest Park—Glass plank road—Tianmen Cave—Night view of Phoenix Ancient City
Day 3: Phoenix Ancient City—Morong Miao Village—Furong Town—Zhangjiajie
Day 4: Wulingyuan 5A-level scenic spot—Yuanjiajie—Mihun Terrace—Qiankun Column—Yangjiajie—Stay in Wulingyuan
Day 5: Ten-mile Gallery—Golden Whip Stream—Tusi City
To sum up this trip to Zhangjiajie, I had a lot of fun, the attractions are very rich, including the fairyland of Zhangjiajie and the cultural experience of Phoenix Ancient City.
🚉【About Transportation】
Zhangjiajie now has high-speed rail service. Those with better economic conditions can choose to fly. Those who want to save money or are relatively close can choose to take the train or bus. I chose to take the train from Guangdong.
🏨【About Accommodation】
The accommodation this time was very special. I stayed in the scenic area on the first night and saw a very beautiful sunrise. The second night I stayed in a guesthouse in Zhangjiajie city. On the third night, I stayed in Phoenix and saw the romantic night view of Phoenix Ancient City. It felt very special.
🖼【About Food】
People in Hunan love spicy food. Both Zhangjiajie and Phoenix are quite humid. If you don't eat spicy food, be sure to tell the restaurant. When you go to Zhangjiajie, you must try the three-pot dish and rice wine. In Phoenix, you must try the blood duck. The taste is very good, but be sure to choose a more authentic restaurant. There are also some snacks like Tujia bacon and sausage, Golden Whip Stream, and hairy chestnuts that are delicious.
【How to save money in Zhangjiajie】
1. Don't go to places you shouldn't go to, such as not going to restaurants where locals don't often go. The prices will be much cheaper and the food will be delicious.
2. Don't join a tour group at the departure place. For example, if I depart from Guangdong, I won't join a tour group in Guangdong, because Guangdong travel agencies will transfer to local agencies for reception. There is an extra link here, and the price will definitely be higher.
3. Book the hotel online in advance, it will be much cheaper.
4. Don't go to the hotels recommended by the touts or touting aunties at the airport or train station exits. That's a one-way street to being ripped off.
Discovering Zhangjiajie: A Real-Life Avatar Adventure 🌳
Have you ever watched Avatar? Unbelievably, the mesmerizing landscape of Pandora was inspired by a real place called Zhangjiajie in Hunan, China. On my first visit, the weather was ideal, allowing me to explore everything in just one day.
However, I highly recommend staying for at least two days to fully experience the enchanting beauty of Zhangjiajie. The breathtaking "Gate to Heaven" and the stunning National Park are must-visit attractions that deserve your time and awe. Walking through the towering sandstone pillars, you'll feel like you've stepped into a fantastical world.
Zhangjiajie's unique charm lies in its otherworldly scenery, a perfect blend of nature's wonders and cinematic inspiration. Extend your stay and immerse yourself in the magic that captivated the creators of Avatar. 🌄🚡
Monkeys in the Misty Forest and Pandora Peaks
#fallingseason#mountainview #monkeys #hiking #Pandora #Zhangjiajie
Getting there is so easy. You can fly or take a train to Zhangjiajie city, then get a taxi or a bus to Wulingyuan District.
Zhangjiajie National Park is so easy to get around, with a free hop on hop off bus service included in the price of the ticket. You get a 3 or 4 day ticket depending on the season. 3 days was plenty enough time to wonder in the forest with the monkeys, climb the highest peaks (or use the elevator and various cables cars). The higher you go the more you feel like you are in Pandora. Make sure you visit the Hallelujah Mountain and others which were the inspiration for the floating mountains of the movie Avatar!
We stayed in the lovely Lanting Elegant Restaurant Hotel, a 5-10 minute walk from the park entrance. It was a beautiful space with a much needed bathtub in the room, after long days hiking in the park! A great breakfast provided and a restaurant should you be too tired to venture out in the evening.
The Wulingyan night market is a must. Of course it’s not as big as the famous Changsha night markets but the quality was just as good, and plenty of choices of food, from BBQ to hot pot, with both spicy and non spicy options. There’s also a selection of restaurants in the town, all within walking distance.
I couldn’t recommend a trip to Zhangjiajie National Park enough. One of the most beautiful places not just in China, but the world. If it’s not already on your bucket list, then be sure to add it. You don’t want to miss this!
The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is not in the Wulingyuan Scenic Area. It takes about 30 minutes to drive from Xibu Street.
Drive to the entrance of the scenic spot, the car climbs the mountain all the way. The Grand Canyon is located at the bottom of the valley. At this time, how many mountains have climbed, and it is necessary to walk down on foot. The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is a newly developed scenic spot. There are not many tourists, but this scenic spot is very famous among Korean tourists. In front of the door, these Korean tourists are dressed in colorful costumes.
The entrance to the scenic spot is on the hill. After entering the scenic spot, you must go through the 1680 steps to the bottom of the valley. The steps were built along the first line of the sky. There were several steep slopes. After walking to the bottom of the valley, there was already a sweat, and the legs began to listen.
Then there are two sections of slides, the first section of the slide is slower and the second section is very fast. Put on the protective mat and put on the gloves, the whole person can slide down to the bottom of the mountain from the slide. Just use the friction of both feet and hands to control the speed of the taxi. The first time I played the slide was very exciting, and the group members were still unfinished. The scenery of the
Grand Canyon will never let you down. After entering the bottom of the valley, it is a hiking route. The whole journey takes about 2 hours, and all kinds of beautiful scenery can be seen. Here you only need to relax and quietly observe the various natural wonders around you. There are also several waterfalls in the scenic area, either heated or quiet.
Along the built walkway, there is no winding road in the middle. The water flowing down the waterfall merges into a small stream and gathers into a lake until the exit.
