20241113 Beijing Grand View Garden
Beijing Grand View Garden is located at No. 12 Nancaiyuan Street, Xicheng District, Beijing.
In 1983, as CCTV was preparing to shoot the TV series "Dream of Red Mansions", it began to prepare for the construction of the Grand View Garden.
The Beijing Grand View Garden has been a vegetable field managed by the "Jia Shu Shu" since the Yongle period of the Ming Dynasty. After that, through the Qing Dynasty, the Republic of China and even after liberation, this place was still mainly planted with vegetable fields. After the 1960s, it was converted into the South Vegetable Garden Nursery.
In 1996, Beijing Grand View Garden was approved by the Beijing Municipal Cultural Relics Bureau as the "Beijing Red Mansion Culture and Art Museum."
When I was a child, I secretly followed the TV series "Dream of Red Mansions". Now that I grow up, I can visit the garden as I please!
In the drizzle of early winter, enter from the south gate, pass through the winding paths, and first arrive at Qinfang Bridge.
After crossing the Qinfang Bridge, you arrive at the Xiaoxiang Pavilion, where bamboos are the most abundant. "Dense phoenix tails, faint dragon roars, and a sea of green bamboos surround it." Green bamboo symbolizes the valuable quality of perseverance, elegance in its nobility and vitality in its subtlety. Daiyu's poetic name "Xiaoxiang Concubine" embodies this kind of noble and naturally unworldly, graceful and charming charm.
After coming out of Xiaoxiang Pavilion, go to Yihongyuan!
Yihong Courtyard. During the Lantern Festival, Yuanchun did not like the word "Green Jade" (because it was a reference to Daiyu), so she changed it to "Yihong Kuailü" and named it "Yihong Courtyard". Baoyu was therefore called "Yihong Master".
Coming out from the back door is Longcui Temple.
Longcui Temple is the place where Miaoyu practices in the Grand View Garden. The classic scene in the play is drinking tea and begging for plum blossoms. One does not ask for the dew in the bottle of the Bodhisattva, but for the plum blossoms outside the threshold of Chang'e.
The Grand View Garden is the villa built by the Jia family for Yuanchun's visit to her parents in the Dream of the Red Chamber. Yuanchun named the garden "Grand View Garden" and the plaque in the main hall reads "Gu En Si Yi". After Yuanchun came home to visit her parents, she ordered Baoyu and Zhuchai to live in the garden.
The garden is small and exquisite, with a new view at every step. It is very pleasant to take a walk in the rain!
