[Yasaki Inari Shrine/Tokyo] Weeping cherry blossoms and 100 ceiling paintings
Yasaki Inari Shrine in Taito Ward, Tokyo
𓂃◌𓈒𓐍 𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃◌𓈒𓐍𓂃
The third Tokugawa Shogun, Iemitsu, built Asakusa Sanjusangendo here. The shrine was founded when the Inari deity was enshrined as the guardian deity.
Following the example of Kyoto, a "Toshiya" (a shooting game of arrows) was held, and the shrine was named "Yasaki Inari" because it was enshrined at the tip of the target.
Cherry blossoms are blooming next to the torii gate and welcome you at the entrance! But the most beautiful thing is the weeping cherry tree next to the main shrine 🌸
The cherry blossom branches hang down so much that they cover the lion dogs.
At the shrine, 100 "Japanese Horse Riding History" sheets are spread on the ceiling of the main shrine, and you can freely view them!
