Qingzhou Ancient City (青州古城) is conveniently located between both Ji'nan and Weifang, making it a good option for travelling to for a day trip. You can travel here by car or local bus, but the easiest option is to take a train and just get a taxi from the train station, taking around 15 minutes. Arriving at the majestic front gate, walk through the arch to the main street, where you can find restaurants, pavillions, gardens and temples. The small alleys all meet at the main street. It is very picturesque during the day or night, however it is usually busier in the evening when the buildings are lit up and there are also performances. Make sure you try the local delicacy, the meat bingze...it is a savory snack that is perfect to eat while walking around the attractions here. You can do all of the city In a just a couple of hours. 3rd tier cities are rarely the place tourists travel to in China. And understandably so. They're often less developed and less exciting versions of bigger cities. But in these cities reside a significant percentage of China's population and, therefore, they better reflect the country's culture. Qingzhou is one of such cities; a relatively insignificant city in modern China, but what few know is that it was quite an influential hub back in the day ... I mean WAY back in the day. Luckily some of the old town has survived (however obvious renovations are visible) and one can really imagine the good old days while navigating the little alleys. Of course it's inevitable that you will encounter the usual stores selling Sun Wu Kung face masks, milk tea, and trinkets from the early days of modern China, so don't expect any high end treasures. It might be better to just enjoy the walk, grab a bowl of noodles, and possibly get your hair trimmed outdoors by the local barbers that line the main street. Another charming part of the city is Yunmen Mountain. It rises up a few kilometers to the south of the city and very little development surrounds it. It's a peaceful area and the hike up the mountain helps one escape the stress of city life. The reward is ultimately a marvelous view of the city and miles of countryside. Yunmen Mountain is a mountain located in the town of Qingzhou, Weifang City, Shandong, China. If you are in Qingzhou for a week, it worth going for a sunrise trek. Not so tough to climb, as they have locals regularly visiting the mountain.  Nice area for a walk and relax after a few weeks of work. Clean and well kept area with space for both running, walking and bicycling. The price for to get there is a little high compare the cost of the chinese life. It's a long walk way for to go on the top of the hill were you can find an important holy sculpture on the rock. A buddist temple is visitable there, and on the way you can buy different local food and hand made manufacturing. On the top you might see a beatifull landscape, but the pollution of the Shandong province is terrible and the fog will limited your look on the city. Not so tough to climb, as they have locals regularly visiting the mountain. The character in the top of the mountain symbolizes that as a human we are very small. Where to See Autumn Leaves in Yangtianshan After the Frost Descends Yangtianshan is a great scenic spot for autumn viewing, especially suitable for self-driving tours, as you can drive into the mountains and enjoy the scenery along the way. Tickets: 55 online (+70 for Lingze Cave), 70 offline (+100 for Lingze Cave). Vehicle entry: 10/vehicle. Navigate to the east gate of the scenic area. Normally, you can enter from the east and exit from the west, but recently a section of the road on the west exit is under construction and closed, so you can only enter and exit from the east gate for now. Soon after entering, you'll reach Wenshu Temple (the rear hall is still under construction). Following the map (Figure 7), you can pass by Wenchang Pavilion, Guanyin Cave, Xianren Cave, Foguang Cliff, Wangyue Pavilion, Qianfo Cave, and the Pagoda Forest, then return to the parking lot. This loop takes about half an hour. Only Qianfo Cave is worth a visit; the other attractions are so unremarkable that you wouldn't even notice them without the signs. Driving up Jiulongpan is quite enjoyable. Parking at the Jiulong Stele allows you to see the entire winding mountain road. Lingze Cave is said to require descending a long flight of stairs. Since I've seen quite a few caves recently, I chose to skip this attraction. Here's the highlight: You can drive all the way to Fangyunge Pavilion, then walk through the red leaf forest to Shengxiantai. This is the most beautiful section for viewing autumn leaves. Missing this would be a real shame. This section takes more than an hour round trip. Driving to the Qi Great Wall, Yaochi (Figure 6) seems like a joke, the forest bathing area is a small unpowered amusement park, and the Qi Great Wall ruins are optional and quite underwhelming. This road is where the Qi Great Wall originally stood; the rest is left to your imagination. The total tour took more than three hours, with no traffic jams or crowds. I heard that Shimenfang was extremely crowded today. The cloudy and foggy weather somewhat affected the view, but next week should still be a good time to see the autumn leaves. Go for it!

The off-season combined ticket is 80. When we started climbing Tuoshan Mountain, there were steps as soon as we entered the ticket gate. There was no buffered square like in other scenic spots. Ou Garden is quite large, and the recommended tour route is: Ningbi Pond - Wangchun Tower - Jiashan Hall - Songfeng Pavilion - Lotus Pond - Garden - Four Stones - Feng Memorial Hall. On a business trip to Guangrao County, Shandong, I passed through Qingzhou and took a quick tour of Qingzhou Ancient City. I entered through the east gate of the ancient city, walked along the stone road (Nanying Street) to Fucheng Gate, took an electric sightseeing car to the old locust tree, then walked around and returned to Fucheng Gate. The main road of the ancient city is wide, with shops and houses lining the streets, and tall and majestic archways. The Western-style Christian and Catholic churches, and the Chinese-style Peizhen Academy and Ou Garden, are a fusion of cultures. Finally, I climbed up to Fucai Gate and looked back at the ancient city: archways and churches, streets and alleys, people and cars, and the smoke and fire continue the traditional culture of ancient Qingzhou. Qingzhou is one of the nine ancient states, "Haida is Qingzhou"; it is said that during the Xia and Shang dynasties, there were Dongyi tribes and Fangguo in the Qingzhou area, which was the main birthplace of Dongyi culture; during the Wei, Jin, Southern and Northern Dynasties, it was once the capital of the Southern Yan Kingdom. Qingzhou has a profound cultural heritage and is the first 5A ancient city in Shandong.
