"Yangpu Park" - The "Little West Lake" of East Shanghai
Yangpu Park, located in the central part of Yangpu District, Shanghai, on Yanji New Village Street, is a large-scale comprehensive park in the eastern part of Shanghai. The park was established in early 1957, and the overall layout simulates the landscape of West Lake in Hangzhou, focusing on the water surface, using bridges, pavilions, corridors, flower racks and other garden buildings and plants to form various scenic spots. The park is divided into five touring areas: Yuhu Scenic Area, Central Scenic Area, Animal Scenic Area, Amusement Scenic Area, and Peony Garden Scenic Area, and is also known as the "Little West Lake" of East Shanghai.
The main scenic area of the park, Yuhu, is located in the north-central part of the park, divided into inner and outer lakes by a curved long embankment. The east of the long embankment is the "Brocade Bridge", and the west is the "Embankment Bridge". The 50-meter-long Wisteria Corridor is in the middle, and there is a Bishui Pavilion on the south bank of Yuhu. There are two islands in the lake, one south and one north. The area north of the long embankment is called the Inner Lake, and the eastern part of the lake is wide. There is also a boat dock on the east bank of the Inner Lake. The two islands in the middle of the outer lake embankment are more than 50 meters apart. The west island is planted with willows, oleanders, palms, acacias, arrow bamboos, Haizhou Changshan, banana plants and ground cover plants; at the southern end of the island, there is a Yuchun Pavilion, hexagonal, cinnabar tubular tiles, and eaves flying, hidden in the green shade, shyly revealing its true face...
The main attractions of Yangpu Park include: sheep feeding jade carvings, artificial mountain waterfalls, large lawns, Yuhu scenery, high slope flower belts, Bishui Pavilion, tea garden, square pavilion pool scenery, etc., the entire park presents a scene of "green in spring, shade in summer, fruit in autumn, and state in winter".
