Guangdong's low-key old city, Shenzhen's back garden is often overlooked
What do you think of when you mention Guangdong?
Is it Asia’s largest wildlife park, or Chaoshan, the food capital?
These are all synonymous with Guangdong, but we are not going to talk about them today.
On the edge of Guangzhou, there is a leisurely little town called Huizhou. Many people may be unfamiliar with the name "Huizhou".
But in fact, Huizhou is a treasure trove of tourist cities!
Huizhou has many famous attractions, such as Shuangyue Bay and Xunliao Bay, and the fastest high-speed rail ride from Shenzhen only takes 26 minutes!
Only by experiencing it carefully with your heart can you discover its beauty.
Huizhou was known in ancient times as "the famous county in southern Lingnan", "the gateway to eastern Guangdong" and "half city is mountains and half city is lakes".
Huizhou is also an important gathering place for Hakka people, and the great writer Su Dongpo once lived here.
By the West Lake, one can still seem to feel Su Shi’s melancholy after his exile.
At the foot of Luofu Mountain, one can still see the endless stream of pilgrims from the past.
Those ancient villages hidden in the mountains and wilds have carved out the mark of history.
The bay meanders along the endless sea, and the beautiful mountains and waters continue the cycle of the four seasons.
Double Moon Bay
From the air, it looks like two crescent moons facing each other, hence the name.
The bay is surrounded by the sea on three sides, and the southernmost sea turtle nature reserve is the only sea turtle protection base in Asia.
The white sandy beaches, dark green forests, azure blue sea, colorful reefs, charming islands and shuttling fishing boats constitute the dynamic and static blend of the South China Sea fishing port scenery.
Xunliao Bay
There are many islands and boulders here, the coastline stretches for more than 20 kilometers, there are eight bays and dozens of islands, and the seawater quality is high.
It is one of the bays with the cleanest sea water in hundreds of kilometers of eastern Guangdong and is known as the "Green Emerald" and the "God-given Platinum Dam".
In order to ensure the safety of tourists in Xunliao Bay Resort, the resort stipulates that tourists are not allowed to go into the sea after 7:00 pm.
If overnight visitors are still not satisfied, they can go for an early swim the next morning when the water is relatively clean after high tide.
Huizhou West Lake
Compared to Hangzhou West Lake, it has more Lingnan style and is known as the lungs of the city.
It consists of "Five Lakes, Six Bridges and Eight Scenic Spots" and it takes a lot of time to visit all of them.
Pinghu Lake is the largest in the lake area, and most of the core attractions are concentrated here. On the north side of the lake, you can visit Fengzhu Garden along the embankment, where the lotus flowers bloom beautifully in the summer.
Xiajiao East Road and Xiajiao Middle Road to the north of Pinghu Lake are the oldest residential areas in Huizhou. They are shaded by green trees and are where local residents relax and pass the time.
The lake area is very suitable for boating, whether it is a hand paddle boat or an electric boat, you can find fun.
Luofu Mountain
Luofu Mountain, also known as Dongqiao Mountain, is one of the ten famous mountains of Taoism in China. Its main peak is Feiyunding, with majestic mountains and beautiful scenery.
Sun View, Cloud View and Sea View are three famous scenic spots in Luofu Mountain.
There are 432 large and small peaks, more than 980 waterfalls and springs, 18 caves and wonders, and 72 stone chambers and caves in the scenic area. The main attractions include Zhuming Cave, Su Lao Scenic Area, Huanglong Temple, Huashou Temple, etc.
Among them, Zhuming Cave is the core scenic spot of Luofu Mountain. The Chongxu Ancient Temple in the scenic spot has a history of more than 1,600 years. It is one of the top ten ancient temples in China and attracts countless believers to pray here every year.
The historian Sima Qian compared Luofu Mountain to "Yueyue", so Luofu Mountain is known as "the first mountain in Lingnan".
Huizhou is really a city that cannot be refused!
