Waking up and coming to see the Big Buddha and the temple is a must-do activity when you visit Xishuangbanna in Yunnan Province. Coming first thing, and avoiding the queues is advised, also other benefits are the rising sun behind the Buddha and the less intense heat, although it'll probably still be very humid! To get here, you will need a private car. You can rent your own or hire a driver.
