Yibin Xingwen Shihai | A highly underrated treasure, just a 2-hour high-speed train ride from Chengdu, where you can see the Shihai waves, the magical giant sinkhole, the legendary hanging coffins, and the CCTV-filmed karst caves. All these natural landscapes were formed over hundreds of millions of years, making the entire park incredibly breathtaking.
🚗【Transportation】
High-speed train:
About a 2-hour ride from Chengdu by high-speed train to Xingwen Station. After exiting, you can take the park shuttle bus from the tourist center next to the station to the scenic area.
Self-driving:
From Chengdu, about 300 km and around 4 hours. Navigate to “Xingwen Shihai Cave Township Tourist Area.”

You can purchase a 188 RMB dual-park pass (including Xingwen Shihai and Bowang Mountain) plus sightseeing bus tickets. Students get a 30% discount with a student ID.

Xingwen Chanyi · Shihai Tingyuan Hotel:
Close to Shihai Scenic Area, offering views of the Shihai waves, with a good environment.
Leixi Tent Hotel:
Located in the Bo People Megalithic Site, with a wild luxury style. Each room is a separate tent, and in summer you can enjoy the infinity pool. Prices are around 500 RMB per night.

Day 1:
Morning:
After arriving, first explore the “Surface Shihai,” stroll along the Shihai waves, admire the 290-million-year-old underwater wonders, and check in at Husband and Wife Peak and Seven Maidens Peak.
Afternoon:
Head to the “World’s Largest Giant Sinkhole,” walk the cliff plank road loop, try sinkhole rappelling, or capture stunning drone shots.
Evening:
Visit Tianquan Cave, take a boat through the underground river, enjoy the astronaut cave descent and volcanic lava light show, and relax or take photos at the Volcano Coffee Shop.
Night:
Camp at the sinkhole campsite with a barbecue and stargazing party, or stay at Shihai Tingyuan Hotel to enjoy private hot springs and have a Miao ethnic long-table dinner.
Day 2:
Morning:
Visit the Bo People Hanging Coffin Site to explore the millennium-old mystery and try on Miao ethnic costumes for travel photography.
Afternoon:
Choose to fly a drone for a panoramic view of the sinkhole, or challenge yourself with via ferrata climbing, jungle trekking, and other outdoor activities for an adrenaline rush.
🍜【Food】
Breakfast: Try Liu Chaoshou Main Store for thin-skinned, generously filled wontons in red soup, clear soup, or spicy soup.
Lunch: Recommended is Bo Miao Impression, where the peanut tofu flower vegetable soup is a must-try. The restaurant’s Bo Miao-style decor is full of ethnic charm.
Dinner: Try the Miao specialty drunken goose, cooked with Miao rice wine—ask for extra konjac for more flavor. Also great are Miao sour soup fish, Xingwen tofu, and Shihai grilled fish.
