Hua Hin—Thai-style cow and horse blood ponds. What is this?

It's nicknamed "The Royal Backyard of Thailand" or "The White Man's Home for the Elderly."
First of all, the advantages are its abundant seawater, its tranquility, and its much cheaper prices compared to Bangkok. The disadvantages are obvious: it's small, with little to see and do, and its limited entertainment options. I knew I was looking for a short, relaxing getaway that would allow for a relaxing and unwinding getaway without too much effort, so I chose Hua Hin.
We were very lucky. It was Thailand's rainy season, but our three-day, two-night trip to Hua Hin was sunny. Our hotel was a bit far from the city center, but the main road was less than 10 meters from the sea, making it easy to enjoy the blue skies, waves, and bright sunshine (just apply sunscreen). After checking in, we immediately headed out to the beach by the roadside! It was humid and sunny, but I was in a great mood. It had been a long time since I had truly relaxed and enjoyed nature's gift to humanity. During my two days away from the city, I felt as if my very being and life had been reborn under the embrace of the sea breeze and blue sky.
The hotel we stayed at was practically a resort. It was very spacious! The decor was classic and natural, with small ponds dotted along the walkway. There are large hanging chairs hanging from the beams, and the high ceiling and large wooden fans everywhere create a relaxing, simple, and natural feel. The pool is also great, but I was on my period, so I skipped swimming and went to bed early. I slept well both nights, waking up to the sounds of birdsong and cicadas. The breakfast room has a direct view of the sea. Breakfast is varied, mostly hot Thai food and cold steamed rice. I loved the steamed rice!
The next day, we took a taxi into Hua Hin town and headed straight to the world-famous srna coffee shop. The black coffee is delicious, but it's only available for takeout. We continued down the road until we reached the world-renowned Oceanside Restaurant. At first, we just wanted to see if it was as beautiful as everyone said. But once inside, we were immediately seated... We didn't hesitate for a second. We sat down, asked for a menu, ordered drinks, and paid for the view. The restaurant is right on the beach, with fine white sand at your feet and the waves rolling in front of us. They even took advantage of the location by installing a large mirror on the right wall, reflecting the ocean, creating the illusion of a 180-degree view. 🥲🥹😇 It was truly heaven...!! We sat facing the ocean for a long time, watching the waves crash against the shore. The boat drifted closer and further away on the water. A large fan whirled overhead, bringing a gentle breeze. The whispers of my neighbors became white noise, and my thoughts drifted away. I can't remember what I was thinking now, but I can tell you that the beauty of the clear sky and the sea had a cleansing and soothing power.
Then we went to eat Khok Kradon beef noodles and crab roe rice. The presentation and flavor were superb. Two bowls together cost only 200 baht! It was almost 5 p.m. when we finished eating, and we were the last table at the restaurant. How lucky!
