A family's taste bud journey, Xiaohao Seafood Restaurant in Wushi Harbor, Toucheng🍴
On the last day of the 228 holiday, I decided to eat seafood at Wushih Harbor before returning to Taipei. I did some research and wanted transparent prices and a clean dining environment (I am afraid of the fishy smell in seafood restaurants). In the end, I chose "Xiao Hao Seafood" opposite the Lanyang Museum. The store is easy to find, and there are about 10 parking spaces at the door, but when we arrived, they were full, so it was also convenient to park in the parking lot opposite.
The store opens at 11:00, and we arrived at 11:10 and had to wait on standby, and waited almost 40 minutes before we were able to get in. The store is not big, but the seats are spacious, and most importantly, it is very clean, without any fishy smell of traditional seafood restaurants. In addition to the items on the menu, today’s special dishes will be displayed on the blackboard at the entrance. We ordered curry soft shell crab (I have to order it when I see soft shell crab 😆), deep fried red fermented rice eel, tower fragrant clam seeds, and a special fried seaweed with egg.
As the curry soft-shell crab was served, the rich aroma of curry wafted into the air, and the golden sauce wrapped the crispy soft-shell crab. I counted them and there were 6 crabs in total, which was not a small portion. When you take a bite, the sweetness of the crab meat and the spicy aroma of the curry intertwine in your mouth, leaving you with an endless aftertaste. Pair it with 6 slices of whole wheat toast and please dip it in curry, it’s super delicious! My son ate three slices + 2 crabs and kept asking for more. The fried clams are plump and full of flavor, and paired with the aroma of basil, you can't help but eat one bite after another. And the portion size is sufficient, not stingy. Usually when I go to a seafood restaurant, I always order seaweed. Seaweed is high in calcium, fiber and vitamin A, making it very suitable for children. The last dish, deep-fried red yeast rice eel, was unexpectedly delicious. Although the skin is crispy, the fish meat inside is still tender, fried just right, and there are no fish bones, so you can rest assured to give it to your son 👍, which is a perfect end to this seafood feast.
