Chui'en Temple in Wolong Ancient Fishing Village was built in the 47th year of the Kangxi reign of the Qing Dynasty (1708), with a history of more than 300 years. Chui'en Temple is located on the east slope of Guanshan Mountain in Chenggong District, Kunming City, with Dianchi Lake to the north and Guanshan Ruins to the west. Chui'en Temple is only a hundred meters away from the shore of Dianchi Lake, and is a temple where you can listen to the sound of the waves. Chui'en Temple is one of the few early Qing Dynasty buildings in Kunming. Although the temple is not large, it is stable and upright, with a regular layout. The wooden painted beams are finely crafted and beautifully patterned. The stone carvings are also vivid and ancient. During the Anti-Japanese War from 1938 to 1942, Chui'en Temple was the site of the Sino-French Youren School for Refugee Children. This school was a charity school that housed 150 refugee children.
