This is my first time taking Hangzhou's most beautiful water bus, line 7🚤 The scenery is really plentiful, with willow trees, small bridges, and clear waters, it's truly a real-life version of the Emerald City from the Wizard of Oz🍃 👇 Line 7 has two types of boats (you can choose between an 8-person or a 24-person boat), if you want to experience the feel of a West Lake boat tour, choose the 8-person one, but you might have to wait for over an hour! 🕐 Duration: About 40 minutes 🎟 Cost: 3r, just swipe your Hangzhou bus card/citizen card on your phone after boarding 👉Pier options: Plum Blossom Stele/ Dam Bridge ①Dam Bridge Pier location: No. 9639 Jianguo North Road, Gongshu District, Hangzhou (There are usually more people queuing here, typically 1-2 hours) ②Plum Blossom Stele Pier location: Wuliu Lane Historical District, Shangcheng District, Hangzhou (Relatively fewer people here!!) 📍For navigation, just set Dam Bridge or Plum Blossom Stele as your destination 🍃Round trip route: Dam Bridge - Baoshan Bridge - Guang'an New Bridge - Chaoming Temple Alley - Vegetable Market Bridge - Kui Alley - Zhejiang Second Hospital - City War Train Station - Plum Blossom Stele 🕐 Timetable: Upstream: Plum Blossom Stele Station - Dam Bridge Station: 08:40-17:00 Downstream: Dam Bridge Station - Plum Blossom Stele Station: 07:40-18:00! This place is not a tourist attraction, there is no commercial development, the great hidden in the city only has the original life breath of ordinary families.

I read reviews about Bamboo Café, located along Wuliu Lane and one day decided to go there for a coffee and good book kind of afternoon. The coffee shop has a nice minimal aesthetic and good lighting. The atmosphere is nice and cosy. I ordered a cold latte and tried their pumpkin cake which was soft, quite filling and not too sweet. I saw on the map that it was along a river but never thought that this place had more to offer. It’s a beautiful lane with restaurants, teahouses, cafés, flowers and lush green plants. It’s also a living area with traditional Chinese architecture. I found out that there’s a ferry (Meihuapi station) which you can take to Baziqiao ferry station, east of Wulin Square. If you’re looking for a nice place to hang out while being in the city, Wuliu lane is a good choice ☕️📖🌷🌿✨ How to go ➡️ I took the metro to Ding’an Road station (定安路) and rode a Hello bike all the way there. 五柳巷历史街区 aka Wuliuxiang history block. Hangzhou. In fact, this place represents regular walking street but just occupying whole district. It was pretty interesting to walk there and watch very curious architectural design applied to every building. Shops are selling souvenirs, restaurants are attracting passbyers by cooked there food flavour. I found this place is a good option for spending the rest of the day after roaming west Lake forest and exploring famous landmarks. #holidayvacation

Hangzhou's Shangcheng District is a historic district that can be traced back to the Southern Song Dynasty's imperial garden, Wuliu Garden. After several changes, most of the residential buildings from the Republic of China period are still preserved in the district. The old moat runs through the district, and there are small boats at the pier for visitors to take a tour. There are many tea houses and coffee shops in the district, making it a great place for a stroll and a break. Wuliuxiang Alley is located in the Shangcheng District of Hangzhou, starting from the south at Doufu San Bridge and extending north to Daoyuan Alley. During the Southern Song Dynasty, Wuliu Garden was built here, hence the name. In the past, it was a residence for officials and nobles, and later it became a dwelling place for common people, with many small craftsmen and traders living here. In the thirty-third year of the Guangxu reign of the Qing Dynasty (1907), a train station was built inside the Qingtai Gate, and trains entered the city, making this area increasingly lively. In 1966, it was renamed Xia Youyi Alley, and in 1981, the old name was restored. The alley still retains the lane buildings constructed during the Republic of China period, and the Hangzhou municipal government has included it in the conservation plan for historical and cultural districts.

Hangzhou's history once saw it as the capital of the Southern Song Dynasty, with smoke-willow painted bridges, wind curtains of green, flowers blooming like brocade, picturesque as poetry, and streets and alleys crisscrossing with homes of a hundred thousand families. Wuliu Lane Historic District is a microcosm of this. Wuliu Lane Historic District is located in the southeast of the old city area of Hangzhou, bordered by West Lake Avenue to the north, Hefang Street to the south, Jianguo South Road to the east, and Chengtou Alley to the west, with the East River meandering through it. Much of the history of the ancient capital Hangzhou is condensed in ordinary lanes like Wuliu Lane. This place was once the royal garden of the Southern Song Dynasty and is one of the most original 'cultural veins' of Hangzhou city. Wuliu Garden, Deshou Official Residence, Diamond Temple, Zhengdong Gate, and Chongxin Gate have all become witnesses to the glorious history of Wuliu Lane.
