I spent 3 days in Bangkok, and here are my recommendations...
Since it's very hot in Bangkok during the day, I'll share some night tour tips first. Next time, I'll share some food, spa, and birthday wish tips.
📅Night Tour Tips
1. Wonderful Pearl Cruise (18:00–21:30)
The cruise takes you on a night tour of the Chao Phraya River, passing by the Grand Palace, Wat Arun, and ICONSIAM (a high-end shopping mall in Bangkok). There is a buffet and performances on the cruise. The food is okay, not bad but not amazing. The river view is worth the ticket price. You need to book in advance. We booked half a month in advance, and it cost about CNY 290 per person. Ticket checks start at 18:00, and the cruise starts at 19:30.
2. Muay Thai (19:00–21:00)
Make sure to buy tickets in advance on the platform! We bought first-class seats for CNY 188 per person. You can't bring food inside, but during each intermission, there are people selling snacks and soda. Since we don't know much about boxing, we just enjoyed the lively atmosphere and left an hour early.
3. Golden Dome Cabaret Show (1 hour, 11:00–22:00)
We bought VIP seats for CNY 160 per person, which were very close to the stage, and there was interaction (but the whole hall is not big, so if you don't want interaction, regular tickets are fine). Most of the people in the VIP area were men and couples, so when the dancers came down to interact with the audience and saw me and my best friend, they were obviously surprised. The performance was wonderful, and the performers were very dedicated. Some of them were really beautiful! There were many Chinese people in the audience, and I didn't see any locals...
4. Banyan Tree Moon Bar
It's on the 29th floor of the hotel we stayed at. The drinks were good, and the atmosphere was great. We happily ordered a drink each and then went downstairs to sleep. It was very windy on the nights we went, so the terrace was closed.
🏨Accommodation: We stayed at the Banyan Tree Bangkok for CNY 1,200 per night. The view and service were great, and the concierge was very enthusiastic about helping us with our luggage. Considering the tipping culture, I quickly went to my bag to get some cash, but when I looked up, the concierge had already left. The complimentary essential oils smelled great.
💗Travel Tips: We mostly used Grab, but there is a rush hour in Bangkok from 5 to 7 pm, so there will be traffic jams. Some tuk-tuks overcharge, so be careful.
