This is the most worth visiting national park in Australia
Walking into Wilsons Promontory National Park
is like stepping into the purest and most tranquil embrace of nature in Australia.
This national park located at the southernmost tip of Victoria is an irreplaceable paradise in the hearts of locals.
There are no overdeveloped artificial facilities here, only pristine beaches, magnificent mountains, wild animals, and countless hiking trails, showing the natural charm of Australia everywhere.
🌿Walking in the center of nature, meeting kangaroos, parrots and endless greenery
As soon as we entered the park, we were embraced by countless greenery. When the car slowly drove into the Tidal River area, we saw kangaroos grazing leisurely on the grass, and colorful Rosella parrots singing on the branches next to them.
This is a paradise for wild animals. If you are lucky, you can also see koalas in the trees, or hedgehogs and possums appearing in the evening. Every eye contact with these creatures makes people more in awe of nature.
🥾 Classic hiking trails: each with great views
The Prom has more than 30 hiking routes. Whether you are a mountaineering expert or a light traveler, you can find a trail that suits you:
Mount Oberon Summit Walk: About 3.4 kilometers one way. After reaching the summit, you can overlook the entire Tidal River plain and the vast coastline. It is even more dreamy at sunset.
Loo Errn Boardwalk: It is an extremely flat wetland wooden boardwalk, which is very suitable for the whole family. In the evening, water birds and low-flying bats are often seen.
Squeaky Beach Walk: The white sand beach will make a "squeaking" sound when you step on it. It is one of the most healing beaches here. It only takes about 45 minutes to walk from Tidal River.
At the end of each route, there is either a magnificent sea view or surrounded by isolated valleys or forests, as if you have walked into another world.
🌊 Not only hiking, but also beaches, canoeing and camping experience
In addition to hiking, the beaches here are also attractive. Squeaky Beach, Whisky Bay, and Picnic Bay all have fine white sand and clear water. In summer, you can go swimming, surfing, or just sit quietly and watch the sea in a daze.
You can also rent a canoe at Tidal River to experience the fun of slow paddling, wandering between rivers and swamps with the waves, and be with egrets and water birds.
If you love camping, the camping site here is also very complete, with electric camping sites, BBQ areas and shower facilities. The atmosphere is great in summer, and you can see the stars when you look up at night.
📍 Practical tips and itinerary suggestions
🚌 Transportation: It takes about 3 hours to drive from Melbourne. Self-driving is the best way, and some tour groups also depart from the city.
📅 Recommended stay time: It is recommended to arrange at least 2 days and 1 night so that you can explore slowly without rushing.
🧭 Notes: The signal in the park is limited, remember to download the map in advance; do not feed wild animals, pay attention to sun protection and water replenishment.
When I stood on the top of Mount Oberon and looked at the coast and primitive woodland extending to the horizon, my heart was unprecedentedly calm.
Wilsons Promontory National Park may not have the hustle and bustle and splendor of famous cities, but it reminds us in the most simple way: "The most beautiful scenery never needs to be embellished.
