We happened to ride a bicycle past this temple, so we stopped in. Wow, the temple is so beautiful. It's not very big, but the atmosphere is very shady. The children helped sweep the temple grounds, speaking in the northern dialect. It was so cute. No matter how many times we've been to Chiang Mai, we're still impressed. If we have the chance, we have to stop by to pay respect and ask for blessings from Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Saksit, the principal Buddha statue that's over 700 years old, asking for good fortune. Many people have recommended it, and this place is very sacred.
.
And this temple also has a local legend from Chiang Mai that says that King Mangrai went to find a location to build a new city. He left Wiang Kum Kam and stopped to set up camp in this area, ordering his soldiers and ministers to build a fence. When Chiang Mai was occupied by the Burmese, the temple was abandoned. Over time, the temple was renovated again after King Kawila returned to drive the Burmese out of Lanna for the last time. Later, the name was changed to "Wat Yang Kwang".

[Chiang Mai Sightseeing] Quiet and relaxing temple "Wat Yang Khwan" 🌿✨
Wat Yang Kuang, located in the old town of Chiang Mai, is a temple with few tourists and a calm atmosphere. Although it is not very flashy, the calm air makes it the perfect place to calm your mind🍃.
Highlights
1. Beautiful Lanna-style main hall🏛️
The main hall is decorated with traditional Lanna-style decorations, and the intricate carvings and designs are attractive. The contrast between gold and red is beautiful, and you can feel the atmosphere unique to Thai temples.
2. Relax in a quiet space⛩️
Unlike temples famous as tourist attractions, there are few visitors, so you can spend a relaxing time. It is a perfect spot for meditation and quiet strolls🌿.
3. Enjoy the local atmosphere🌏
Since it is a temple visited by locals, you can experience real Thai culture that is different from tourist spots. If you are lucky, you may encounter a monk chanting sutras🙏.
Unlike the flashy tourist temples, Wat Yang Khwan is a place where you can calm your mind and soul. It is recommended to visit this hidden gem of Chiang Mai at your leisure. Thank you for reading to the end. I look forward to your comments if you have been there or have other recommended spots. Also, all the photos I post were taken by myself, and unauthorized use or reproduction is prohibited. #ChiangmaiTourism #WatYangKhwan #ThaiTemple #LannaArchitecture

White Stupa in Southern Chiang Mai
Today, I went to the edge of the old city in Chiang Mai and had some noodles. They were quite delicious. I especially love the variety of Thai fried pork skins, each with its own unique taste and texture. After eating, I took a walk and accidentally wandered into a local temple. It was very quiet and serene, with a beautiful white stupa. The weather was great today, making the stupa look especially bright and white in photos. Most temples have a large tree, often a Bodhi tree. I really like the big trees in temples. Standing under the tree and looking up at it makes me feel very calm and peaceful.

📍Request a blessing from “Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Saksit” at Yang Kwang Temple.
In Chiang Mai city, there is another important temple called Wat Yang Kwang, located in Tambon Hai Ya. It is one of the oldest temples in Chiang Mai. Inside the temple, there is an unusual octagonal pagoda, and in the old chapel, there is a principal Buddha image that is over 700 years old. The locals call it “Luang Pho Phra Phuttha Saksit” because they believe that if they come to pray to Luang Pho, their wishes will come true, whether it is asking for children or good fortune. Inside the temple, there is also a large Phra Chao Saen Saew statue for people to worship and ask for blessings. The real Phra Chao Saen Saew head that was discovered is now in the Chiang Mai National Museum. It is another temple that should not be missed.

Wat Yang Kwang, pray to Phra Saen Saew, Chiang Mai
Wat Yangkwang, an ancient temple over 700 years old, is one of the first temples in Chiang Mai. This can be assumed from the head of the largest bronze Buddha statue made by the first generation of Lanna craftsmen. Wat Yangkwang is also known as Wat Saen Saew, Wat Nang Rua, and Wat Nang Rua. Wat Yangkwang is the temple where the head of the Saen Saew Buddha, a Buddha statue with a nail sewn into its mouth, was discovered. Wat Yangkwang is a clean, peaceful and fairly large temple, suitable for making merit, worshiping and asking for blessings. Inside the temple, there is a white pagoda with a golden umbrella over the pagoda. Around the pagoda, there are 29 Buddha images. You can walk around to make merit. At the entrance to the temple, there are 2 very beautiful large lions. When you walk in, you will see a very large Buddha image, which is very prominent. Those who love making merit cannot miss this temple. It is very beautiful. Don’t forget to walk around the temple. The pagoda is very beautiful. The temple is before reaching Kad Kom. The temple is on the right. The temple is easy to find, near Chiang Mai Gate. Park your car and enter the temple. #BeautifultemplesinThailand #Makemeritandworship #Beautifultemplecoordinates #VisitChiangMai #OldtemplesChiangMai #BeautifultemplesinChiangMai #Don't miss out, religious people.
