Umong Temple, Suan Phuttadham
Wat Umong is an important ancient site that has been in Chiang Mai for over 700 years. It is located on Suthep Road, Mueang District, Chiang Mai Province. It was built during the reign of King Mangrai around 1839, which is over 700 years ago. Later, King Kuena built a tunnel here for Phra Mahathera Chan to use as a place for meditation. The inner wall therefore has many passages, and there are also old mural paintings inside the tunnel. Tourists often come to walk around and admire the beauty inside the tunnel and take beautiful pictures from this corner of the temple. In addition, Wat Umong also has other important places, which are divided into several sections: a replica of the Ashoka Pillar, a stone inscription, a staircase to the pagoda, a Naga head, a Bodhisattva statue, an outdoor museum, a Dharma puzzle theater, a Dhammakhot library, a Chalermprakiat Museum, and the Suan Phuttharam office. Anyone who visits Chiang Mai must not miss paying homage, meditating, and enjoying the beautiful atmosphere at Wat Umong. We guarantee that we will receive good energy. I have an incredible sense of peace.
