Erawan Cave Temple, a must-see
Erawan Cave Temple is located at Ban Pha In Plaeng, Wang Thong Subdistrict, Na Wang District, Nong Bua Lamphu Province. Erawan Cave consists of stalactites and stalagmites, with beautiful nature.
The highlight of Erawan Cave is a trip to see the “Kneeling Elephant King Stone”, which has a legend that the elephant king died of a broken heart and cursed himself to turn into stone. Nearby, there is another stone in the shape of Nang Phom Hom, the elephant king’s daughter, and other strangely shaped stones such as stone mushrooms and stone basins.
Visitors often go up to pray and ask for blessings from the Buddha statue inside the cave. The cave is quite dark, but there are colorful lights decorating it beautifully. At the top of the cave, there is a tunnel through which you can see the beautiful surroundings. I would like to recommend that you come here often, and don’t miss the papaya salad at the shop opposite Erawan Cave Temple, which is very delicious.
