Wat Lat Phrao was built around 1870 as a monastery. Later in 1874, the villagers agreed with the monks that the temple should be moved to Wang Lat Phrao (the word “Wang” means a large pond larger than a pond) because the original location was on high ground, which was inconvenient for monks and novices to use water. It was moved closer to a water source and was at the intersection of Khlong Song Kratiam and Khlong Lat Phrao. It is a large temple with a convenient parking lot.
