Khao Khun Phanom Temple, an ancient temple 🙏🙇♀🎁
📍Wat Khao Khun Phanom, Phrom Khiri District, Nakhon Si Thammarat Province is an ancient temple with historical and archaeological significance. It was the residence of King Taksin, who came to reside and observe the precepts in this cave. In front of the temple is an ancient sacred well, believed to be a sacred well, offered to King Taksin for his personal use. Interesting things inside include the monument of King Taksin the Great. The temple features brick and mortar walls and sema markers, similar to the city walls. The front wall has stucco decorations and Chinese porcelain. Inside the cave, which is located on the top and requires a 250-step climb, there are about 30 bronze Buddha images and a bronze footprint. Regarding the history of this temple, it is assumed that it was the residence of King Taksin of Thonburi (King Taksin fled to become a monk until his death). However, some say that it was a resting place for Princess Kesini, the daughter of Prince Nara Suriyawong, the ruler of Nakhon Si Thammarat, during the years 2312-2319.
