I spent five days and four nights in Qiandao Lake, Hangzhou. My favorite thing was staying at the Zhiya Hotel tonight, especially the never-setting afternoon tea, which provided a great location for watching the sunset. The hotel is built on an independent island, surrounded by water on all sides and connected by a floating bridge. Vehicles can only be parked in the parking lot outside and then picked up by the hotel's electric car. The king-size bed room with a view that I stayed in had a large floor-to-ceiling window and a transparent glass balcony outside the window. The view was superb. I could watch the sunset while drinking tea on the balcony, or watch the sunset while lying in bed. Of course, the best place to watch the sunset from the hotel is the Never-Setting Afternoon Tea by the lake. There is no obstruction at all, and it feels a bit like a sunset at sea. Although I wanted to leisurely drink tea, eat snacks and watch the sunset, I couldn’t help but take out my camera, mobile phone and drone to take pictures of the beautiful scenery. I wanted to keep this scene not only in my mind, but also on my hard drive so that I can look through it while sitting in a rocking chair when I am old. This time I specially arranged a day to come here to relax, and I was really healed by the beautiful scenery of lakes and mountains here. The water is really super clear, and the locals even said that the water here can be drunk directly (although I dare not 🤣). When taking a boat trip on the lake, there are green islands all around, and it feels like I have really walked into a painting! Interesting small attractions recommended👇 📍 Meifeng Observation Deck: You must take the cable car to get here. The view of Qiandao Lake from the top of the mountain is really spectacular! When the weather is good, the lake is dotted with endless islands, making for beautiful photos. 📍 Yule Island: There are so many cute fish here, and you can also experience traditional fishing methods. It feels like traveling back to an ancient fishing village! There are also local fishermen's dishes by the lake. I recommend trying the chopped pepper fish head, it is really delicious🐟. 📍 Longshan Island: There is a thousand-year-old temple here - Wenyuan Temple. The environment is very quiet. It is suitable for a walk here to feel the heavy sense of history. This trip to Qiandao Lake is really refreshing, the scenery is so beautiful and the air is super good🌿! I can't believe this is my second trip to Qiandao Lake this year, and this time I visited the cozy Warm Island located at the eastern end of the Qiandao Lake area. Qiandao Lake Scenic Area - Warm Island is a highly developed vacation islet in the central lake area of Qiandao Lake, blessed with unique natural lake views and accessible sandy beaches. The island is surrounded by numerous harbors, clear waters, distant green mountains, and is brimming with greenery. Actually, there are just two resort hotels on the island. The Qiandao Lake Warm Island Butterfly Lakeview Resort Hotel is situated at the southern tip of Warm Island, completely embodying the island resort village concept. The hotel has almost everything, even an accessible sandy beach, but it seems to have been in operation for quite some time and looks somewhat outdated. The other, Qiandao Lake Warm Island Elegant Art Hotel, is located at the northwest corner of the island and appears to have been renovated, looking more in line with the aesthetic preferences of younger people and adding many elements popular for photo opportunities. The hotel's Instagram-famous Sunset Café is a favorite spot for many day-trippers. Warm Island is not accessible by car directly; there is a pontoon bridge connecting it to the outside world. Visitors can park their cars at the parking lot on one side of the pontoon bridge and then take the hotel's electric cart to the respective hotel. The entire Warm Island is actually quite small, just a five or six-minute walk across. Both hotels are built by the water, offering pleasant environments and tranquility. In terms of location and perspective, the east side of the Butterfly Lakeview Resort Hotel is more suitable for watching the sunrise, while the west side of the Elegant Art Hotel is more suitable for watching the sunset. However, overall, since it is located at the eastern end of Qiandao Lake, there are more mountains and man-made structures blocking the view to the east of Warm Island, while the west offers an endless lake view, with islands scattered like stars across the sky, making this island more suitable for sunset viewing. You don't necessarily have to stay at the hotel or spend money at the café; you can see the stunningly gorgeous sunset for free from the shore in front of the Elegant Art Hotel. Of course, if time and budget allow, it is still recommended to stay on the island for a night to experience the slow life of the small island. Walking around the island in the early morning, feeling the quietness of eagles soaring and fish leaping, insects chirping and birds calling, is very CHILL.

Day 2: Have breakfast at the hotel in the morning, then go to the Hilton Hotel pier to take a speedboat to Huangshan Tip (arrive before nine o'clock), the round trip takes about two to three hours. After getting off the boat, climb to the top of the mountain to see the viewing platform. You can overlook the business card of Qiandao Lake, 'The World is for the Public'. You can see many small islands scattered on the lake like pearls, which is very spectacular. Have fish for lunch at Fish Alley, recommended by locals. The taste is very good. Rent a mountain bike in the afternoon and ride to Shangjiangbu Bridge. This is also the most beautiful place to watch the sunset. The lake and mountains along the way are very comfortable with a gentle breeze. Watching the islands around you change from green to gold, the lake is like scattered silver, shining brightly, and you can't help but feel the vastness of the world and the insignificance of human beings. After watching the sunset, go to the very famous Chunyu Story in Qiandao Lake to continue eating fish. There are several dishes on the Hangzhou food list here, which are all delicious. Stay at the Original Island Hotel at night. It has the largest swimming pool in Qiandao Lake. The public space is very large. You can read, drink tea, and copy scriptures. The environment is antique. Day 3: Have breakfast at the hotel in the morning, then go to Jinxi Base to take a helicopter to overlook Qiandao Lake. The current discount price is only 198 yuan and it also includes a double kayak in Red Leaf Bay. It's very cost-effective. You must try it once when you come to Qiandao Lake. After the helicopter ride, go to Red Leaf Bay Water Park to paddle a kayak. The small boat floats on the green lake, surrounded by colorful forests, as if you are in a painting. If you like water projects, you can also try the water Ferrari here, which is exciting and thrilling. Go to Tianyu Mountain to watch the sunset in the afternoon. Remember to take the elevator to the viewing platform. The view is superb, just like a scene in an anime. After watching the sunset, go to 'Little Chongqing' Qilong Lane in Qiandao Lake. There are many local snacks that locals miss. You must try them. Stay at the Eden Hotel at night. It is also built on an island surrounded by water on three sides. The environment is elegant and the service is very good. Day 4: Go to the Time Tunnel in the morning to experience the changes of the four seasons in a day. Walking in the corridor and seeing the underwater ancient city around you, it feels like you have really traveled through the time tunnel. Then walk to the Dream Island opposite, the 360° light and shadow panorama, it feels like you have entered the metaverse, the colorful lights are beautiful and dreamy. Have lunch at Beer Town, the western food at the Experience Center is very good. After lunch, take a tour of the town, visit the Qiandao Lake Beer Museum next door, play go-karts, paddle kayaks, and visit the popular lighthouse. Then return.
