Waiao beach is located in Toucheng Township, Yilan. Its scenic beach features a variety of water activities such as surfing and parasailing. It has beautiful view and perfect weather. However, there is not much public transportation so I suggest you to take taxi.

It's another cloudy day, perfect for water activities. While enjoying the view of Guishan Island from a distance, I noticed that the sand erosion along the Yilan coast is quite severe. The only place left to dip our feet is Wai'ao Beach, so off we go! The waves are really small, and the water is very shallow, making it a safe place for kids to play. After playing in the water, there's a vendor offering a rinse for 10 NTD. Then, we head back to Toucheng Train Station to eat Grandma's shaved ice. After playing in the water, the dog got hungry and chose a place that serves potstickers. After filling up, we cross the street and head to Jiaoxi for a hot spring bath before returning to Taipei.
