I recently had the opportunity to explore the underwater world in Langkawi and it was a cool experience. The water was clear and the coral reefs were truly beautiful. It was amazing to see so many different types of fish swimming around in their natural habitat and i had the opportunity to see the the team feeding the penguins . Besides buying chocolates and swimming at the beach , visiting Langkawi Underwater World is also one of the must-do activities in this state of Kedah . We stayed at Cenang Plaza Beach Hotel which is 400m walk away from the aquarium . This aquarium displays wonderful marine wildlife and land creatures . At the Penguinarium , there is a group of penguins that are quite active swimming and moving together . They are sooooo cute ! We can see many other attractions like the Freshwater Fish Section , the Seashell Display , the Koi Pond , Invertebrate Section and the Coral Reef Section are available within the aquarium . If you are wondering if it is worth going there, then I can say that yes, it is worth it (especially since tickets are quite cheap): you will find out what underwater creatures you can meet while snorkeling or diving near the island of Langkawi, you will see unusual and sometimes funny fish, meet a crab that is larger than a human, watch sharks and giant rays and you will also see beautiful penguins. A must-visit destination for a visit. 🇲🇾 Langkawi is a small island, and you can easily cover all its main attractions with just 1-2 days. 🛥️Getting there: We took a ferry from Tammalang checkpoint in Satun Province, which took about an hour. 💸 The fare was about 450 baht per person. You can buy tickets at the counter; the ferry leaves at noon (Thailand time). Arrive an hour early to give you time to prepare for dinner, use the restroom, exchange money, etc. Oh, and also register for MDAC (short for Malaysia Digital Arrival Card, an online arrival/visit pass registration system). The next day, we took the LANGKAWI cable car (entrance tickets required). #Skycab. We bought a combo ticket for almost all of the #Skydome #Skyrek #Langkawi3D #Skywalk attractions. There's no skyglide or skybridge ticket, but if you want to visit, you can buy a pass at the entrance. Staff are available to provide guidance and assistance at every attraction. However, buying tickets individually can be more expensive than buying the whole set, and it can be time-consuming. Some attractions are crowded, so you have to wait in line (express tickets are available). (For those who don't want to wait long) Uh, when we reached the top, it was drizzling🌧️ and the fog was so thick that the Eagle's Nest zone had to be temporarily closed. The view after the rain was absolutely stunning, too. The fog contrasting with the lush green forest was so unbelievably beautiful. 🦭 Another spot that both kids and adults love is Underwater World 🌊 (entrance ticket required). Enjoy the underwater world, fossils, and adorable animals. Of course, some of them aren't as common in everyday life as ants, mosquitoes, lizards, and cockroaches. Honestly, I found Underwater World Langkawi a bit disappointing compared to what it used to be. The main highlight is the penguins – they are cute and fun to watch, especially during feeding time. But apart from that, there’s not much variety anymore. The fish collection feels limited, and many sections look old or not well-maintained. I remember this place being more exciting years ago, but now it feels like it has lost its charm. For the ticket price, I don’t think it’s really worth it unless you’re specifically coming to see the penguins. If you’ve never been before, maybe it’s still okay to experience once. But if you’ve visited in the past, you’ll probably notice how much it has gone down.

Visited Underwater World Langkawi and was pleasantly surprised! The highlight was the 15m underwater tunnel that you can walk through and see sharks, rays and turtles swimming overhead. The penguin and seal exhibits were also a hit - especially the playful African penguins. The place is well maintained and a cool escape from the tropical heat. It's conveniently located at the southern end of Pantai Cenang for beach time. Highly recommended for families and marine life enthusiasts!

We visited Gua Kelawar and took a relaxing boat ride through the mangrove forest, a peaceful and unique experience. Island hopping was exciting with beautiful beaches and crystal-clear water. The SkyCab cable car was definitely a highlight. The view from the top was absolutely stunning, though the ride itself was quite an adventure! We also visited Underwater World Langkawi, which was very interesting and great for families. Nearby, we explored SkyDome and the 3D Art Museum, both were fun and interactive. Another memorable stop was Machinchang Petland, where we enjoyed the mini zoo with a variety of friendly animals. At night, we headed to Chenang Beach and caught a firework performance right by the sea and it such a magical and lively atmosphere. The food throughout our trip was delicious, with many choices that were easily accessible. Overall, it was a truly enjoyable and memorable holiday. Would definitely love to return!

From the moment you step inside, you can see the immense effort put into maintaining this place beautifully. It’s clean, well-organized, and truly a delight to explore. Of course, there’s an incredible variety of fish, but what sets this aquarium apart is the presence of penguins and seagulls! Beyond aquatic life, they also have some unique bird species, making the experience even more special. I absolutely loved the overall experience. To top it off, we even got a personalized picture frame as a souvenir (paid for it, but totally worth it!). You can easily spend more than an hour here.
