It was relocated 82.6 meters southeast in 2002 as part of a plan to bury the railway underground. Recently, it was restored to its original location, revealing its grandeur once again. Today, the building remains not just a place to pass time, but a cultural asset and landmark, a reminder of the city's past. The exterior is captivating, with its red brick walls, large arched windows, and traditional decorations. Its preservation of the intersection between the Japanese colonial era and the modern era is deeply impressive. Every time I passed by, the warm sunlight would catch my eye, and the tranquil, elegant atmosphere would captivate me. A portion of the exhibition space is also open, with historical exhibits neatly arranged to provide a glimpse into the cultural flow. I'd like to describe it as "a place where the city's time and memories flow silently." If you want an experience that will evoke emotions you may have forgotten, even if only for a moment, during your trip, I highly recommend visiting.

#OverseasTravel 高雄車站 is the transportation hub of Kaohsiung City, connecting trains, high-speed rail, subways, and buses, making it incredibly convenient for getting around. Exiting the station, you'll find a taxi queue and bus stop right outside, making it efficient and accessible for both travelers and commuters. 😊 The facilities are well-organized. First, signs and electronic displays are in Korean, English, and Chinese, making it easy for foreigners to find their way around. The information desk staff are also friendly and helpful when navigating the platform. Second, the interior is relatively spacious and clean, with ample seating available for waiting or taking a break. Escalators and elevators are well-maintained, making it easy for even travelers with lots of luggage to get around. The food and beverage options are also impressive. There's a large convenience store, a food court, a coffee shop, and a quick meal restaurant, all open from early morning to late at night, making it convenient for a quick meal or a rest while waiting for your train. I was also impressed with the cleanliness and safety of the station. The floors are clean, and trash cans are placed in prominent locations, ensuring hygiene. CCTV cameras are well-equipped inside and around the station, and sufficient staff and security personnel are stationed, ensuring a safe and secure journey. The overall impression is that it's "not just a station, but a hub that seamlessly connects the city's daily life." The design, with its focus on efficiency, comfort, and safety, is impressive, making it the perfect place to explore Kaohsiung or to fulfill daily schedules. I'd say it's a worthy station, offering transportation, convenience, and relaxation all in one place.

A ramen shop a 5-minute walk from the train station. The second floor has donburi, but it was closed that day. When we arrived, the front door was packed with customers. We filled out a table and waited about 30 minutes before being seated. Our food came out pretty quickly after we ordered. The only difference was the price, broth, and toppings. The kitchen is open, so you can see the food being prepared. We were disappointed that the char siu was vacuum-packed instead of homemade.
