📍 Unagiku Nara Main Store (うな菊 奈良本店) Review
This eel restaurant is located near Nara Park. The exterior has the feel of a traditional Japanese house, and the moment I stepped inside, I felt a sense of traditional Japanese sensibility. The small garden also created a great atmosphere even before I ate. 🍃 The interior was quiet and clean, and the staff were courteous.
I ordered the Kabayaki Set Meal. The outside was slightly crispy and the inside was tender, melting in my mouth. 🐟 The sauce was subtle and not overly sweet, pairing perfectly with the rice. There was no gamey odor from the eel at all, and the subtle smoky flavor made it easy to eat. To finish my meal, I ordered warabimochi, which was incredibly soft and fluffy. It was a perfect dessert. 🍡
It's a bit pricey, but considering the atmosphere and quality of the food, it's worth it. However, it takes a while to cook, so I recommend giving yourself plenty of time to visit. It's the perfect meal after a walk around Nara Park. The atmosphere, the food, and the service were all satisfying. 🥢
