If you come to Bali, you must visit Ubud citywalk, otherwise it's a wasted trip!
When people are still in the land of dreams, the scenery of Bali has already awakened. When the first ray of sunlight pierces through the rising mist, light takes on a shape.
Many people miss the scenery hidden in the jungle when they come to Bali, and that is Ubud. In Ubud, the terraced fields are the livelihood of the locals, the traditional culture reflects their life, and this ancient tree over 700 years old bears witness to their faith.
I like Ubud, it gives more meaning to a trip to Bali beyond just a vacation. Leisure, religion, scenery, culture, primitiveness, mystery... a hodgepodge of seemingly unrelated and unequal terms all mixed together here.
After this slow travel in Indonesia, Ubud has directly become one of my favorite places. It's complicated, with almost more Europeans and Americans on the streets than locals, yet it still maintains a feeling that won't let you forget you're in Southeast Asia.
Hmm, I'll go again next time.
Places worth visiting in Ubud:
📍tegalalang rice terrace
📍 jatiluwih rice terrace
📍Ubud Palace
📍nungnung waterfall
📍campuhan ridge walk
📍Ubud citywalk
📍bayan ancient tree

Visiting Ubud Palace - for the first time 🫶
Are you heading to Bali soon? Particularly in Ubud. It is somewhat impossible to visit Ubud without having quick tour at Ubud Palace.
Ubud Palace is located in the town center of Ubud. From Monkey Forest, you can walk your way to Ubud Palace, it would take only around 10min. Just be aware that there would be some monkeys roaming the streets, so be mindful of your belongings while walking. When you finally reach the place, you can just directly go inside. Although, there are so many tourists visiting the said place, it is still something you might want to consider.
Entrance fee to Ubud Palace is free. How's that? We definitely enjoyed our quick visit here.

Royalty!
Located in the heart of Ubud, this majestic palace has so much detail in its structures that just scream royalty!
I got a sense of how rich the Balinese culture is at this palace and got a glimpse of how life used to be back then for them.
It feels so authentic as soon as you get there perhaps it’s because of the spiritual connection the palace has with the Island, it’s definitely an Ubud Cultural Treasure.
The entrance is free, so if you’re ever in Ubud make sure to check it out.

Ubud Palace, Bali - Indonesia: This is located in Ubud near the market. This is my second time there but nothing has changed. There are still a lot of tourists. The palace with its structure looks charming in Balinese style.

The interior of the city palace is exquisitely crafted, with both golden splendor and elegant scenery. The building uses a lot of stone materials, such as red sandstone and marble. Even the panes are carved with marble to show the grandeur. At the same time, the mosaic technology is used to make the building beautiful.

[Traveling to the Footsteps] Sukawadi Palace. Located in Ubud, known as the important art town of Bali, this palace is arguably the landmark of Ubud, hence the name Puri Saren, the residence of the royal family of Sukawati. The
royal palace was built in the 16th century, opposite the Ubud Pasar and designed by famous artists. The entire palace has a total of 60 rooms, magnificent. In particular, the gate is very similar to Bali's famous landmark "The Gate of the Sky" (described later), but here is the downtown area, where there is a high terrain, no obstructions, plus a volcano behind, taking pictures. It is naturally more beautiful.
The palace is full of exquisite and delicate hand-carved carvings, as well as the extravagant gold foil decoration. Every day, it attracts a large number of art lovers to come here. If you are lucky, you can also enjoy the wonderful traditional dance performances of local Balinese.
Brigade TIPs: When entering the palace, you must dress neatly. If the staff feels that the tourists' clothing is out of specification, you will be wrapped in sarongs and shawls (costs are required, but not expensive, and the details are not remembered).

The Ubud Palace is the residence of the Sukawati royal family. It is located opposite the Ubud market. Although it is not eye-catching at first glance, the Ubud Palace is the landmark building of Ubud.
Ubud Palace was built in the 16th century. It was designed by famous artists. There are 60 rooms. From the heights, the whole palace is magnificent, especially the gate. The exquisite hand-carved and expensive in the palace. Awesome gold foil decoration.
But the Ubud Palace is the most attractive to me. It is a fabulous traditional dance performance with Balinese local characteristics starting at 7:30 every night, such as welcome dance, masquerade, etc. Can't miss these shows.
BabyMimo.
The Ubud Palace (Puri Saren) is home to the Sukawati royal family. Located across from the Ubud Palace, it is where the main street and the Ubud Monkey Forest Road meets. The Palace is an iconic landmark in Ubud. The Palace is located inside the city of Ubud, an important center for the arts in Bali. The Palace was built first in the 16th century by famous artists. It contains 60 rooms and the entire palace is magnificent in appearance, in particular its entrance doors. Refined hand-carved reliefs and extravagant golden foils line the palace.
Every year, lots of art lovers come here. From 19:30 onwards, you can enjoy shows of indigenous, traditional Bali dances in the palace, such as the welcome dance, the masked dance. Even though it’s now opened to the public and even has a hotel inside, this is still very much the actual palace for the Ubud royal family. During the night you’ll find performances of Bali’s traditional dances.

Puri Saren is the residence of the Sukawati royal family. Opposite the Ubud market, it is just the intersection of Main Street and Monkey Forest Road. The Royal Palace is the landmark of Ubud. The palace is located in Ubud, which is known as the important art town of Bali. The palace was built in the 16th century and was designed by famous artists. There are 60 rooms. The whole palace is magnificent, especially the gate, the palace is exquisite and delicate. Hand-carved and extravagant gold leaf decoration.
attracts many art lovers every year. In addition, at 7:30 in the afternoon, there are many wonderful traditional dance performances in the palace, such as welcome dance and mask. Although the dance
has already been opened for public visits, and even opened a hotel inside, it is still a royal residence of Ubud. Traditional Balinese dances will be staged in the evening courtyard.

Bali is not just about the sea, there's also the relaxing and healing Ubud!
Promise me, if you come to Bali, you must visit Ubud, otherwise, it's really a waste! Everything in Ubud is wonderful - jungles, waterfalls, terraces, volcanoes, hot springs, palaces, temples... Each place exudes a rich cultural and artistic atmosphere.
👉 If you come to Ubud, don't miss these places:
Ubud Palace
Free entry, a royal building with Balinese characteristics. It's relatively small, but it's worth spending a few minutes taking photos and browsing.
Ubud Market
Right opposite the palace, just cross the road. It's like a mini version of Yiwu Commodity Market. Remember to bargain when you buy things!
Tegallalang Rice Terraces
The filming location of Jay Chou's 'Rice Field' MV 🌾. All you see is green, terraces, the famous big swing, and bird's nest photo spots. You can basically cover everything in one go.
Tirta Empul Temple
An ancient temple with a thousand-year history. It's said that the holy spring here is always clear and has healing properties, so many people come here to bathe and cleanse their souls every day.
🚙【Transportation】
In the center of Ubud, it's recommended to travel by motorcycle. You can easily call a car using Grab or Gojek on your phone. For long distances, it's better to rent a car or choose a more flexible and comfortable small group tour. Avoid cheap large group tours, as you get what you pay for, and the experience can be very poor!
🥯【Food Recommendations】
Pison: It's popular for a reason! The fried rice and fries are both delicious.
Ibu Oka: Super famous roast suckling pig rice in Ubud, with crispy skin and tender meat, both fragrant and spicy!
Seniman Coffee: One of the top twelve coffees in Asia, recommended to try the local beans hand-brewed.
Sun Sun Warung: Typical Indonesian snacks, beautifully presented, and the green coconut roll is super tasty!

Royal Elegance: Exploring the Enchanting Ubud Palace in Bali
#indonesiatrip
In the heart of Ubud, Bali’s cultural hub, stands Puri Saren Agung, famously known as Ubud Palace. This historic royal residence is a harmonious blend of traditional Balinese architecture, lush gardens, and artistic treasures that embody the island’s rich heritage. As I stepped through the intricately carved gates, I was transported into a realm of regal splendor and timeless beauty.
The palace, once the home of Ubud’s royal family, exudes a sense of elegance and reverence. The traditional pavilions, adorned with ornate carvings and gold accents, showcase Bali’s craftsmanship at its finest. Every corner seemed to tell a story—of kings, ceremonies, and the island’s deeply spiritual culture. Wandering through the courtyards, I admired the striking statues, delicate stonework, and vibrant tropical flora that perfectly complemented the architecture.
One of the highlights of my visit was learning about the palace’s role as a cultural center. It hosts nightly traditional dance performances, bringing to life Bali’s rich artistic traditions. Though I wasn’t able to catch a performance this time, the thought of witnessing a legong or barong dance against the backdrop of the palace’s golden-lit pavilions left me eager to return.
Located amidst Ubud’s bustling streets, Ubud Palace is a serene escape that captures the essence of Balinese royalty and artistry. It’s not just a landmark; it’s a living testament to Bali’s vibrant culture and history. Whether you come to admire the architecture, immerse yourself in Balinese traditions, or simply soak in the tranquil ambiance, a visit to Ubud Palace is an unforgettable experience.
