I finally visited the long-awaited Tsz Shan Monastery, a temple filled with garden-like ambiance located at Ting Kok in Tai Po, New Territories, Hong Kong. Covering an area of 4.7 hectares, it can accommodate more than 2,000 devotees and was built with an investment of 1.5 billion by Mr. Li Ka-shing. The monastery features the world's second tallest outdoor statue of Guanyin. Unlike other temples, incense burning is not allowed when worshipping Guanyin here; instead, water is offered. The monastery's construction materials include African-imported rosewood, and the lotus-shaped canopies above the three large Buddha statues in the main hall are gilded with 24K gold. The roof is made with Japanese-fired silver tiles to ensure a uniform color. After the tour, we copied scriptures for about 40 minutes. It was very quiet, and this rare sense of tranquility was healing.

This is a Buddhist monastery built by Mr. Li Ka-shing in Tai Po with an investment of 2.6 billion over more than ten years. It is a rather special place in Hong Kong, away from the hustle and bustle of the city, nestled against the mountains and surrounded by the sea, with a tranquil environment. Upon arriving, one can't help but relax. The most famous feature is the 76-meter-tall white Guanyin statue, cast in bronze alloy, which is the second tallest giant pure white Guanyin statue in the world. Even without entering the park, it can be seen from a distance. The most special aspect is that there are no incense offerings here, but instead, wooden bowls are used for water offerings in an environmentally friendly way to worship Buddha, which also has a strong sense of ritual. Inside, there is a Buddhist art museum. The first floor houses Buddhist statues and relics from various places (photography is allowed). Before entering, there is a short video about the origin of Buddhism that lasts about three minutes. The second floor contains consecrated treasures and a scripture repository (no photography is allowed, only worship). Unseen Hong Kong Monastery - Tsz Shan

Earlier, we had a visit at the Tsz Shan Monastery, one of the most beautiful and peaceful Buddhism monastery, yet unfortunately, unseen and most people never heard of it. This monastery located in Tai Po, New territories District, Hong Kong and had been opened since 2015. There’re many ways to get to the location - we recommended taking the 20T so you don’t have to walk uphill to the entrance. Inside the monastery, there is a little cafe that offers free chocolate cake, tea and coffee. There’s also a guideline for routes and at the end you may try doing Chinese Calligraphy that opened for everyone. The highlight of this place is The Guan Yin (Avalokiteśvara) Statue, having a height of 76 meters. There is a large bronze water vessel known as the Thousand Wishes Pond.
