I'm not convinced! Why does this Vietnamese restaurant get one Michelin star?
The first time I went to his house, I didn’t make an appointment.
I was told that reservation is required.
It was still early then,
We asked if we could eat it;
You can eat it quickly,
But was told no.
Later I came to Hanoi,
His family has been awarded one Michelin star.
This time I also made a reservation in advance.
But when I arrived at the site, my reservation information was not found.
I dug out the email and gave it to them.
After confirming that they missed it,
A table was assigned to us.
I have to say,
The environment of Tam Vi is my favorite.
This is a quiet two-story wooden house.
From the walls, ceilings, floors, stairs, old tables and chairs, to bamboo chopsticks, everything reproduces the style of the ancient house.
The elegant decoration harmonizes with the nostalgic style.
There is a small courtyard in the store.
There are many trees,
Suitable for sitting when enjoying the cool air.
There are more than 100 dishes on the menu,
The most popular ones are braised pork, fried tofu, water spinach, etc.
The menu will change according to the season.
But none stray too far from traditional Vietnamese cuisine.
If you want to try his specialty dishes,
Just order the set meal.
The essence is basically all included in the set meal.
Including the pickled eggplant that many people don’t like.
The taste of the food is not good.
After all, it’s hard to agree with everyone.
But the food is really home-cooked.
It would definitely not be able to be driven in China!
As for why it was awarded one Michelin star,
And we also think that many Michelin-starred restaurants in China are very average.
The answer I found is:
The most fundamental difference is that
Westerners pay more attention to the texture of dishes,
The Vietnamese pay more attention to taste.
For example, in the United States,
To evaluate a good steak,
They look at tenderness, thickness, fat percentage, fat solubility, meat solubility, cooking technique.
The drinks are quite special.
The taste is what you see is what you get;
The sweetness is just right,
After eating the braised pork, take a sip.
Very greasy.
Overall,
Their prices are not expensive.
It’s worth coming to Hanoi to experience it once.
After all, it can be considered as a completion of reaching the stars.
